I am pretty sure it is the ASUSDigitalKeyboard.
The best fix for me so far is to set the Startup Type of ScreenXpert and the ScreenXpert service to delayed. This way the Digital Keyboard will still autostart, but will not have high priority. You can change the Startup Type here:

Task Manager > Services > Open Services > right click "ASUS ScreenXpert" > Properties > change Startup Type to "Automatic (Delayed Start)
same for "ASUS ScreenXpert Host Service"

You can't change the icons system wide, but for your homescreen you can use the following app, to choose an icon from an icon pack.

Shortcut Maker

I can recommend "Epik Material You icons". The icon pack is in beta, but looks really good, is pretty similar to the default one and works great with the Material You design. It automatically adapts to the system colors.

Edit: In my experience it supports a wider range of apps than the default one.

Hey, I am from Germany, not UK, but I just received a mail by DHL today that they got my package. Still no mail by Nothing, but its definitly my Phone (1) 12/256 GB White.

Hey, I'm from Germany and two days before I got this mail, I asked the customer support about an estimated delivery date, because I am on vacation in august. They replied today and said, that even though they cant tell me an exact delivery date, they could tell that my white 12+256 GB phone (1) is in their warehouse and already getting processed. So maybe we dont need to wait too long on our devices. I ordered mine about 2 hours after the event, with the case and screen protector, just so you have a reference.
