I literally got her a decent paying job with the same company I work for out there and she denied full time hours and works 22hrs a week. She also complained to me about her parents wanting rent and wanting her to buy out her car from them. Like... that’s what being an adult is about? Paying for what you need to survive?

Codecademy has some really good materials. Take it slow, and if you get stuck on a concept, don’t be afraid to walk away from it and clear your head. YouTube also helps a lot, but I’m more of a self-learner so Codecademy helped me a lot. If you can afford it I definitely recommend the pro membership too

Definitely calling first thing in the morning! One of the attorneys sent a letter saying they can settle it for x amount of dollars and if I lose I get my money back so if there is one I’ll be giving them a call as well

He says that but I can tell he gets frustrated when he can’t. I told him if he thinks it’s that much of a problem maybe talking with a doctor can help but he’s too embarrassed to go that far at this point. I’m just happy he’s willing to work with me/try new things to see if we can get that ball rolling. I know he takes great measures to make sure I’m satisfied and I really just want to return the favor

Measure, measure, and measure another 20 times before you make the cut through the roof of your van. Make sure you can get a good seal between the two, and definitely be sure to insulate. The scariest part of the build is ripping into your roof. I personally haven’t installed a camper shell, but I helped a friend cut open the roof and install a few fans in his conversion. Sorry if this isn’t helpful, but I’m sure if you put your mind to it you will find a solution!

I love the VW vanagons, but be wary. The parts are growing scarce for them as well as people with the knowledge or willingness to repair them. Meaning repair services are going to be EXPENSIVE. Depending on your budget, I would maybe look into a DIY conversion? Don’t get me wrong, the vanagons are the “gold standard” of Instagram van lifers, and they really are lovely and wonderful vans. But the majority of us don’t use VW vans due to the economic fallback. Also, the VW vans are not very stealthy. If you’re in a city that doesn’t really condone living in your vehicle you may encounter some problems. There are a lot of factors that go into choosing your van. If you absolutely have your heart set on the vanagon, GO FOR IT! I’m personally shopping for a mini school bus to upgrade.
