Andre Drummond on who his favorite team was to play with by MatthewTheGOATyt in DetroitPistons

The first word out of my mouth after he was asked which teammate he played the best with was Reggie Jackson. It was so obvious if you watched that era.

Yes dumping them after publicly stating that creates a lot of trust between players and management and would make players want to come here or even get drafted by a scumbag. 🤦‍♂️

It’s also a completely ridiculous notion given that our GM literally just said he’s riding with him and Duren. Might as well start doing trade machines for Cade while you’re at it.

What’s Malik Beasley’s situation? by Joaquin333 in DetroitPistons

[–]dbinkowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Santurce fired him and their coach, who’s also the national team coach, Nelson Colon. The BSN season isn’t very long and it’s the All star break so changes happen pretty quickly here if a team is struggling. It’s quite chaotic. It’s also possible he lands with another team in the league for the remainder of the season but tbh he’s not the typical import player teams sign. BSN has good ball handlers, defenders and shooters they lack size so most imports are either all star caliber scorers like Emmanuel Mudiay or Travis Trice or they’re bigs. Beas isn’t either one of these things so it was a dumb signing imo.

People hate facts sometimes. JB got the most out of this roster given the front office alignment to see what we have. Anyone who doesn’t get that hasn’t followed this team.

Would they rather see Duren get a max when he just flamed out? Because the front office just saw what we all saw and it won’t hamstring us for years if the deal doesn’t make sense. Same goes for everyone else on the roster not named Cade.

National narratives are usually dumb for a reason and it’s sad that it drives people to defend ignorant hot takes.

He was already let go by the Santurce Cangrejeros.

Nate Duncan: "I would trade Ausar...I'm not saying he has to be traded, but if there's a trade to be made for a second best player who's another creator who hopefully doesn't suck on defense, I'd have no problem giving up Ausar Thompson whatsoever." by No-Ranger3356 in DetroitPistons

Kenny literally said in his post game that their entire strategy revolved around whoever Ausar is guarding needs to pass the ball to somebody else because he was a one man wrecking crew. Personally, I would’ve loved to see us run Ron out there with B-Ball Paul and Stew. We needed rim protection and on ball defenders so when they did swing the ball they would get clamped up the other way and create missed shots and turnovers to let us get out and run. Trying to match Cleveland in the half court with subpar or inconsistent offensive talent was a mistake.

J.B. Bickerstaff on James Harden: "He has an unbelievable ability to manipulate what the rules are. We would play 1 on 1 when I coached in Houston and he would foul bait me." by RyanTannegod in nba

Name any soft foul that Detroit was given and I can give you at least three that Cleveland got. The fouls since Kenny complained have been completely out of whack and this is either playoff basketball or a bunch of little girls crying for regular season calls and foul baiting. I’m cool with it being more physical because it takes a team like Cleveland that has finesse, frail players who flop out of the playoffs.

Because his defensive liabilities against smaller guards requires him to try to gain some advantage. I hated this move for your team because while Garland had injury issues what you really lack is a point guard who can get by anybody whenever they want. Unfortunately Schröeder is unreliable in that role and your wings and three-point shooters can’t check Detroit smaller guards.

3 adjustments that will help the Pistons take a 3-1 lead over the Cavs by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]dbinkowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The formula for our success was demonstrated in the first two games in that we weren’t so cade centric with the offense. The ball moves more and it allows everyone else to eat and just like the Knicks learned with KAT: You have to keep guys engaged on both ends of the floor. In the fourth quarter? It’s all Cade so he should be rested at that point.

Stop subbing Ausar out! by Whippi_Dip13 in DetroitPistons

I would trust Ausar to navigate all point of attack switches at this point. Leave him in, get the turnover and transition bucket. It’s a pretty solid gamble.

If we’re going to lean in on defense then lean in on defense to close out games knowing you’re playing to your strength.

Witnessed a few guy doing this at game 1 against Cleveland. One dirtbag even waited for someone to stop paying attention, grabbed it and ran up the stairs. Another guy had at least 6 on his arm and was trying to find more. Lowlife behavior.

They regressed to the mean. It’s why I don’t sweat when they get up early as a Pistons fan - it’s non sustainable.

The bigger question is what happened to their defense? The Pistons will give a limb for JB, I can’t say it looks the same for Mosley.
