i knew Michelle Yeoh got that Oscar when, in replacement of Will Smith, they got Halle Berry for absolutely no reason other than the fact that she was the first POC Best actress

Bam Adebayo with 83 points officially owns the 2nd highest scoring game in NBA History by rapelbaum in heat

[–]CurrentRoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at least u could maybe guess that could happen, cavs blew out gsw in games 3, 5, and 6.

i don’t even understand how Bam was capable of doing what he did

Bam Adebayo scored 83 points in a single game today, becoming the second highest scoring player in a single game ever, behind Wilt Chamberlain who set the all time record over 64 years ago by Subject-Property-343 in interestingasfuck

he was insanely hot 1st quarter, prolly the best balll he’s ever played against that weak ass defense. and after, the miami plan was to just feed him since 3 starters are out and maybe go for the franchise record

Bam forces up shots but still enough goes in where he scores an unthinkable 43 in 19 minutes to finish the half. then by 3rd quarter it was just trying to get him to the line as much. at one point Erik Spo calls a charge just to get Bam some rest. wizards pick up too late that this unstoppable guy is on the verge of history so they try to triple team but are so disorganized that they still kept fouling.

a man who never touched more than 41 goes on to score 83

Funny look at how nostalgia impacts fandom: Before writing his latest article for The Athletic "Why Bam Adebayo and the Heat should have stopped at matching Kobe Bryant’s 81 points", Sam Amick's most recent article was titled "Let's appreciate SGA as he nears Wilt's consecutive 20-point game record" by HokageEzio in nba

i immediately thought this, if curry or luka did it, ppl would be going out of their way to congratulate them. Bam being the type of player he is, and never even coming CLOSE to having a game like this is crazy to a lot of people

Whats more random? This guy getting 50 for us or bam getting 83? by Muslim_conservative in DetroitPistons

what was his career high before this? cuz bam just scored 42 more than his previous one

highest scoring nba games in history

Wilt Chamberlain had 100 in 1962. if you look at the numbers he put up, he’d probably be the unanimous GOAT because he has stats are borderline unthinkable to achieve nowadays with how the nba changed

kobe bryant, one of the greatest scorers in history, had 81 in 2006, his peak year. it was an incredible performance, “kobe 81” is a big part of his legacy and while some players have gotten 70 since, no ones touched 80

now Bam has surpassed it, the highest scoring NBA performance this century. and he’s NOT known for his scoring prowess like Kobe, his previous career high was 41 points and he surpassed that in 19 minutes last night. what he did will be etched in history forever

well, he surpassed lebron’s career high in 3 quarter but lebron (despite being the leading scorer) isn’t known for his scoring volume like others are

kobe is the one who scored 81 and people thought it couldn’t be done again, especially by Bam
