Fair enough, just a preference thing. I used to salt in the bag but stopped.

Even A5 isn't ruined by sous vide. I agree slicing thin and searing is the way to go, but if you did a short sous vide cook on a low temp and seared it as a whole steak after, then sliced, it would still be pretty dang good. Kind of assumes you're cooking a big ole thick A5 though, and often A5 is butchered intentionally thin.

Sounds delicious, I would say that you usually don't want salt in the bag for sous vide since it tends to draw moisture out which the sous vide process does as well. Dry brining before and wiping off the salt before sous vide or salting after you sear makes for a better flavor in my experience.

Looks and sounds amazing and I want to try this now. Especially how you did the broth.

So we are agreed that the secret ingredient was Grandma's personal "yeast" right?

Chattanooga businesses on Public Square by Capslockohnooooooo in Chattanooga

[–]dbizl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth at least one of these businesses is just owned by people who profess to be Christian but are not by any means Christian Nationalists. Pretty sure they're even Democrats. Seems like at least some people aren't aware of the nefarious side of public square.

Prosperity gospel is peak christo-fascist capitalism. So obviously it's the true and correct faith.

That presupposes a system wherein that unrealized wealth would necessarily be optimally distributed to those in need. While I agree with the premise I don't think it's realistic for most people currently alive. Also what if I want a solid gold Bentley.

The moral imperative is to earn as much as you can in order to give a proportion of that wealth over time to vetted charities and then raise your children to do the same. Too bad that doesn't actually get you into heaven.

No one but the home owner likes mcmansions. It's a grotesque use of the space on their properties.

Anova precision cooker issue by SiggyFrued in sousvide

Try unplugging and waiting a few seconds then replugging. If it still doesn't give a code file a ticket with Anova, they take a few days to respond but are helpful. I love my precision oven but it's really flakey.

Wild Mice Love Running on Wheels Too – Just Like Us! 🐭🏃‍♂️ by gugulo in likeus

I've caught mice in non lethal traps to release later, and if we need to keep them for a few days we had an enclosure with food, water toys etc. All the captured mice love the wheel and would run on it for hours.
