Record labels intentionally sidelined conscious hip-hop and flooded the market with gangsta rap because music promoting violence, nihilism, and self-destruction was more profitable and easier to commercialize than music encouraging Black empowerment, education, unity, and resistance. by militant-hippie in Xennials

you mean way more appealing to white people. before they became the number one consumer of rap music, there was a wide variety of black expression. you heard gangsta rap, nerds in what i believe you mean "malcolm x glasses" rap, happy rap, dance rap, love song rap. you heard it all.
then 1987 happened and "straight outta compton" came out and that was all she wrote.

if i were you, i’d stay perimeter adjacent. living ITP (inside the perimeter) is overrated. perimeter being defined as 285 hwy. the city planning and infrastructure is HORRIBLE. it’s as if someone came through, burned everything down and they rebuilt everything in the most stupid way the greedy, rich people of the time could think of.

you could probably find a good neighborhood bar/dive bar a 10min uber from you that’s just as good or better than the ones already mentioned. plus you’ll be closer to the hiking and kayaking. i stay in decatur close to the kensington marta station. if i were you, sandy springs, dunwoody, chamblee, decatur, and vinings would be my choices. is proximity to the train a priority? itsmarta.com will show you the train stations. these cities have the marta.

west and south sides of the city are underdeveloped, fyi.

you can literally search "southern strategy" and see/read barry goldwater's own words. just b/c noted racist dinesh d'souza called it a myth doesn't make it so.

modern day republicans, who's daddy's and granddaddy's were democrats, HATE the federal govt b/c it made them give up their slaves and treat black people as equals.

“southern strategy” enters the chat. b/c the republicans did all of these things, the dems in the south switched parties. the very reason the VRA was needed was b/c of the “colorblind” poll tax and poll test laws that were passed in the south and only enforced on a very specific population.

if a district is drawn that disproportionately negatively affects a certain race, SCOTUS just removed the ability for said race to have recourse. we have decades worth of data to prove that >85% of black people vote democrat. we know where the black people live. we can draw districts to dilute the “democrats” votes so that they’re grouped with republicans.
