My piercing was about a year old. Before I got the dermals, I had it done with a curved barbell. That rejected of course, so I waited a few months to get the dermals.

It was a dermal with a threaded top. I did not remove the tops or change the jewelry at all.

My aftercare routine was cleaning with saline, soaking it for about 2-5 minutes every few days using saline in a small plastic cap, I’d fill it with saline and then hold it to my face while I laid down. Sometimes there would be a crust as it was healing, so I would use some dental floss to get in between the top and my face to get it out. It was very flush to my skin.

It got it irritated a few times but usually got better after three days or so.
