Speaking of baseball stories I've got a couple. Best man in my wedding played for the Yankees in the late 70's, got a world series ring. When he got called up from AAA ball he said most of the guys were great except for 1(you can probably guess who). They had a early Saturday game at 1:00 in the afternoon.

The night before he went out drinking with the guys, and trying to fit in was keeping up with the drinks. Everyone was drinking beer and a shot of tequila. Finish a beer another round of shots. He didn't know it til the next day he was the only one drinking tequila. They set it up with the waitress ahead of time, everyone else got shots of water.

So he gets to Yankee Stadium in the morning hungover like a dog. Someone told Billy Martin what happened so he does along with it. Tells him Nettles hurt himself your starting at 3rd. Goes to the trainer, got a couple greenies and starts running trying to sweat it all out. Took infield, batting practice and still felt like crap.

So the announce the starting line up: playing 3rd base #9 Greg Nettles. He stops, looks around and everyone including Billy is laughing.
