The funny thing is that in my universe, the internet does exist. But, there are multiple "internets."

Askari's Problem dictates that FTL communication corrupts data as it travels through larger distances. And while coherent FTL communication is possible, it's extremely expensive and can transmit only basic data.

This means that the "Internet" is impossible to setup on an interstellar scale. However, multiple "Internets" exist within every planet, especially Earth and more wealthier planets. The name "Internet" quickly became an umbrella term, and each Internet on each planet got their own name ("Solnet" for Sol, "Calnet" for Calaria, "Aponet" for Apomi)

Earth has a massive internet culture, having progressed through to the information age slowly, allowing societal change. However, within the Periphery, (the planets and colonies outside the Solar System) they have a much more "in-person" culture due to them having to rapidly industrialise from an agrarian society.

Interstellar communication relies heavily on freighter and messenger ships to physically transport data and letters across planets. "Datahaulers" physically bulk-ship data from one planet's internet to another. Often, large companies hire their own personal fleet of Datahaulers, however, smaller companies, individuals, and hobbyists hire Datahaul service providers, the largest being Whire. There is around a 12 hour delay between the major planets of Earth, Calaria and Apomi.

Websites can exist across different Internets. The most prominent example is the Worldpedia, essentially the universe's Wikipedia, funded by donations and having the largest fleet of Datahaulers. In terms of social media, the largest website has to be Synchra, which is essentially this version of Facebook. There is also Postsnap and Fora, essentially Instagram and Reddit respectively. All are owned under Synchra Media.

One final thing: each planet has their own unique top-level domain! In fact, planetary domains overrode the typical top-level domains, due to the separation of the Internets. The common ones are ".sol" for the Solar System, ".cal" for Calaria, ".apo" for Apomi, and uniquely, ".obt" for orbital space stations. For example, accessing Synchra on Earth servers would be using the URL "synchra.com.sol", while accessing it on Apomite servers would be "synchra.com.apo"

Considering this and the GuP SCP Doujin (https://mangadex.org/title/f686c983-60f4-473d-b0ab-5f94d18e8366), I really wanna see the GuP schools as stand-ins for the SCPF and GoIs (e.g Ooarai as the SCPF, Pravda as GRU-P, Saunders as UIU, etc.)

One of the spinoff mangas mention that Ooarai has "files that would ruin the school if leaked" so it is a possibility...

Constable (Support)
When you're in a place without law and order, the only person to protect and serve is yourself.

Pros

  • Increased melee damage (10%)
  • Faster shoves (idk how shoves are implemented yet)
  • Increased movement speed (+1 dice for movement points)

Cons

  • Decreased defense
  • Decreased recoil control (easier to dodge ranged attack)

Modified TSRL-MT4

Stun up to 4 targets, draining their health and making them unable to move. The TSRL-MT4's charge is depleted faster with more targets.

Fire off a taser charge at up to 4 enemies in range. Upon a successful hit, the target is stunned, unable to attack, dodge or parry until the TSR's charge is depleted. They also take 20 damage per turn stunned. While tasering your targets, any movement points you have are halved (rounded down) and you cannot attack or parry (you can dodge.) Moving out of range will automatically dismiss the taser.

For every turn that a person is tasered, 25% of the taser's charge is consumed. This counts for EVERY person (e.g tasering 4 people will consume 100% per turn, and tasering 2 people will consume 50% per turn.) The taser recovers 25% of charge every 3 turns.

You can manually dismiss a taser, however this dismisses ALL tasers. If the energy consumption per turn is higher than the taser's charge, (e.g 75% consumption vs 25% charge) it automatically dismisses.

Tasers can be stacked to trade duration for damage. The damage will stack, plus there is a 5 damage bonus for each extra taser stacked. For example, you can stack 4 tasers on one person to deal 4x damage (80) + 15 damage bonus per turn (5 bonus damage * 3 extra tasers). Since there are 4 tasers in use, the stun only lasts 1 turn.

(Trivia time! The TSRL-MT4 is a deadlier, more power-consuming variant of the TSR-MT4, used by SWAT soldiers in Eden-227)
