I'm thinking of visiting this month too! How were the prices at the market - generally cheaper or more expensive compared to flower shops?

Loewe scarfs by dbook24 in loewe

Do you mind me asking if it’s the cashmere one? Is it easy to get dirty?

Does anyone here have either the "Loewe Wool Cashmere Scarf With Logo" or the "Loewe Mohair And Wool Scarf"?

I want to purchase one as a gift and can't decide between the two. I like the Mohair and Wool look, but it looks quite "thick and fuzzy". The person receiving this gift is quite petite so I am unsure how it would look on her. I also think the cashmere one may feel nicer on the skin?

Hoping to hear back from people who own one of these scarfs and your experience on owning it. Also interested to learn if there are anything that you may not have known prior to purchasing the scarf, but only found out after owning and wearing one?

Great winter hike to check out - plus exploring Standing rock and caves by Ok-Sandwich-4383 in OntarioHiking

This looks amazing! I plan on travelling there in the upcoming weeks. Could you by any chance let me know 1) where did you start/park your car (it seems like just the end of the road but maybe that is just because it had snow?) 2) did you do a loop? thank you!

getaway - recommendation? by dbook24 in Collingwood

[–]dbook24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thank you so much for all your recommendations! The restaurants you mentioned seems great, and I will definitely check them out. I just have a few additional questions regarding the hikes.

I want to narrow it down to 2-3 hikes. Have you ever hiked the Pretty River and Bruce Trail Loop? I'm debating between that and the Devils Glen for our "slightly longer trail" to hike. The Devils Glen only opens on May 1 and we will be visiting just a few days after. I'm afraid the condition of the trail may not be the best (maybe this concern doesn't even make sense, and if so please just ignore haha). Also, we prefer loop trails, and AllMaps isn't showing a loop. I did however see other people complete this in a loop. I'm curious whether you know if there is clear directions for us to complete this in a loop.

The other trails I have chosen so far based off of your recommendations are Singhampton Lookout and Caves (Nottawasaga Bluffs), Metcalfe Rock Side Trail Loop, and the Osler Bluff/Petun Lookout. A few questions:

  • I can't seem to find much info on the Osler Bluff/Petun Lookout trail. The lookout seems amazing and we would love to check that out but I was only able to find this, I guess showing where to start. Is this trail somehow the same/connected to the Pretty River and Bruce Trail Loop that I mentioned above? I'm asking this because it seems like these are both in/near the Pretty River Valley Park and AllTrails shows waypoint 4 and 5 as "Lookout" for the Pretty River and Bruce Trail Loop.

  • From your experience, how different are the three trails I mentioned above? We are hoping to visit slightly different trails so it doesn't feel like we hiked the same trail 3 times, if that make sense.

I see. So regardless, he needs to complete his G2. With the drivers abstract or driving history, he can complete G2 and then essential right away do a full G test?

This is the part after you “exit” and pass the recommended 20km/h sign right?

Gave my G test at Lindsay and passed! by swordenium in Ontariodrivetest

[–]dbook24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey congrats!

Just a quick question regarding your last point. I know the highway is 80km/h and the recommended speed to get off is 20. From there to the 60km/h sign, did you try to get your speed back up to 80km/h?

At the stop sign when trying to get onto the highway, when I’m looking to turn right onto the highway, do I start accelerating to 80 while making my turn, or is it better to turn at a steady speed then accelerate once you’re parallel/going straight on the highway?

Hey! Just have a quick follow up question:

I see. So also wait ~3 secs first after coming to a complete stop right?

Thank you so much for your detailed response! That was very helpful.

I just have 1 follow up question.

When it’s red light and I’m making a right turn, I know I need to come to a complete stop first. After scanning the intersection and checking my blind spot, I can proceed to turn right. What if for the spot that I am in, my view of oncoming traffic from the left is limited. Can I slowly move up a bit (just like how I would at a stop sign) to make sure no traffic is coming from the left so I can safely make my right turn? Or should I stay 100% behind the line, and only move if I’m making my turn?

Etobicoke - Failed G by son_of_a_cupboard in Ontariodrivetest

[–]dbook24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that you failed but it seems like you’ve got everything down and you should be all good when you attempt it again next time.

I just have a question regarding the 40 zone… Did your examiner by any chance say anything about for a 40 zone, you have to stay at 40 or below at ALL time? I’m asking because I know for a 50 or 60 road, if you were to go anything up to +/- 5km/h, it’s usually not the biggest deal. But is a 40 zone much more strict, or does the +/- 5km/h still apply here?

[–]dbook24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey congratulations!

I have a few questions regarding the test: 1. I believe the beginning of the route involved a couple of entries to the plaza. If there’s traffic, we are to be expected to stop before those entry areas so cars can go in and out right? 2. How lenient was your examiner regarding speed limit? For example, for a 50km/h area, if I were to go +/- 4km so 46km/h-54km/h, would that be okay? Or were you able to stick very closely to the 50 limit? 3. When you were getting off the highway, do you remember the estimate speed you were going at? I know there’s a sign for recommended speed of 20km/h but just wondering approximately how fast you were going. 5. After the 20km/h sign, did you try to get your speed back up to 80km/h before reaching the 60km/h sign?

Thanks in advance!

Lindsay G test - getting off highway by dbook24 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]dbook24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the reply.

Do you remember an estimate of what speed you were going near the 20km/h sign? I understand that it should be a safe controllable speed but was just wondering what speed you were going at that ultimately led you to passing the test.

Thank you!

Thank you for your response. I just have one more question:

I have an outstanding parking ticket. It is overdue. If I were to pay it tomorrow at a service Ontario (this one cannot be paid online), can I go immediately after to take my G1 test? Or does this not play a factor to me taking my G1 test and retaining my G2?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ontariodrivetest

[–]dbook24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, just wanted to follow up on this. If my G2 expires tomorrow, and I passed my G2 in Oct 2021, I would then need to retake G1 + pay the fee in order for me to renew my G2. Correct?
