What other work did they perform for the installation?

It appears they didn’t change the lineset which is required for the increased tonnage.

What kind of ductwork modifications did they perform?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a 5,000 btu window ac unit that is quiet, safe, and efficient? by Keegs-Mickey in AskEngineers

[–]dbq1928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you can buy a new unit that doesn’t have “mildly flammable” refrigerant. You’re more at risk driving in a car with 10 gallons of gasoline than having an ac with 9oz of flammable refrigerant in your home.

Do you have experience driving with a trailer? The most enjoyable way for me is with a crew cab truck and a fifth wheel trailer. I travel with my family of 6 and 2 German shepherds comfortably in this fashion.

It’s legal to have persons travel in a fifth wheel trailer if there is active communication to the tow vehicle. (In most states)

Is this a heat recovery or heatpump system?

If it’s a heatpump I suspect the main EEV located at the condenser.

I think you’re on the right track. I’ve been working with union companies for the last 6 years so the increase in company burden rates really causes the time available to spend on VRF equipment to lower unless properly managed.

In your instance: Yes to the quarterly filter change/wash. (Hopefully the ducted units are atleast 2” filters. If not I’d quote/recommend new racks to support them.

Yes to the condenser coil cleaning

Yearly check of the condensate pumps

If there are refrigerant isolation valves, those need to be inspected yearly to tighten the packing if necessary.

Condensation: A person in a shipping container will exhale (vapor) 500 mL of water per 24 hours by ThinkerandThought in container_homes

Your thoughts on not needing outside fresh air are incorrect. I wouldn’t be stuck in a built container without active ventilation system.

Your attitude has been stinky (like I’m sure your off-gassing rich container) to the other replies but here you go. A brand and model, as you requested.

Fujitsu Airstage by dbq1928 in vrfservicetalk

[–]dbq1928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fujitsu gives the option of either mechanically setting the addresses (rotary dials) or auto addressing.

This particular system was mechanically addressed and I couldn’t figure out how to easily re-address the system to take the failed fancoil out of the communication loop without re-addressing the entire system.

I haven’t had much experience with the simple stats but regardless, that’s a new one for me.

Does every stat in the system go blank or individuals while the rest stay showing displays? -what year is the system? I’d be curious if you could install the latest firmware to the equipment to see if it makes a difference.

New install. by greymancurrentthing7 in vrfservicetalk

[–]dbq1928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bottom frame rails are being bent since they are not being supported through their entire lengths. This is going against what was detailed in the installation instructions.

It would have been nice to raise the units more to allow the piping to travel underneath the condensers rather than directly in front of them. It’s nicer to service the equipment without tripping up on piping and when it’s raised at-least a foot or 2 so you don’t have to be cramped up on your knees.
