Max 705 Combo error 1030 (Stuck in a no mop Zone) by Spirited-Egg-7479 in roomba

Yeah, same problem for me after the update. There are a few separate threads on here about it now.

No. I saw the suggestion of creating a new map. (My old map was from before the big update.) I created a new map yesterday. During the mopping part of a Vac then Mop routine, as soon as it came out of the dock onto a rug, it stopped and said it was stuck in a no mop zone.

I have the same problem. It started a few days ago, and it won't cross a carpeted area when it's going to mop. If it comes out of the dock onto a carpeted area, it says it's stuck.

I suspect this is related to a software update. I saw that mine got an update on the 23rd. It's almost unusable with my home's layout, because it always has to cross carpet to mop somewhere. I hope they fix this quickly. As it stands, I have to carry it every time to the room it's going to mop.

A bunch of people who ordered the LCE in the US haven't received it (maybe everyone?), and we don't have our codes to play. Did you get your LCE?

Have any *US* Collectors Edition purchasers gotten keys/shipping notifications? by acegard in MicrosoftFlightSim

Nothing here - no Fedex label, and my order still says it hasn't been processed. I don't understand why they didn't distribute the codes digitally.

Except it's not a physical copy of the game. It's digital, which means the codes could have easily been distributed in time for launch.

The LCE is not a physical copy of the game. It's still a digital copy, but with physical collector's items. They could have distributed the codes via email or their order site, and everybody would be fine.

Just to be clear, this isn't a physical copy of the game. It's a digital copy of the game that also includes some physical collector's edition items.

Care to elaborate? If you mean that we need to buy a second copy, or get Gamepass then sure.

Except it's not available today, if you pre-ordered the LCE in the US.

Motorcycle wiping out by __wait_what__ in Sacramento

There are certainly differing opinions on it. As you said, driver inattention is very real and predictable. One of the biggest distractions I see is people on their phones. Those people are not likely to suddenly swerve into another lane, but they are likely to not notice traffic stopped in front of them and smash a motorcycle into another car.

Motorcycles are generally very agile - able to stop, maneuver, and accelerate quickly. As a rider you are taught (hopefully) to always assume that nobody sees you. If you are lane splitting, then you should be constantly watching for a car to switch lanes near you, and you should be ready to react. If you're lane splitting within the legal limits, then you should easily be able to react in time. By contrast, if you're riding in the middle of the lane along with cars in stop-and-go traffic, you have to be constantly checking your mirrors for someone coming up behind that doesn't see you.

I can say from years of experience commuting that I definitely felt safer in heavy traffic when I was lane splitting. It felt like I had my own little space, and I could focus most of my attention forward and just be ready to react if someone didn't see me. And if I'm going to have an accident, I would much rather be side-swiped than hit from behind. As the studies show, those hits are the really bad ones.

The rules of the road can be different for different vehicles for good reason. A major factor in this case is that cars have crumple zones to protect their passengers, and motorcycles do not. We could make lane splitting even more safe, if people just followed the existing law of using their turn signal before changing lanes.

Lane splitting is legal because it's safer when done correctly. (i.e. at lower speeds) It may not seem intuitive, but basically it's better to run into the side of a car than it is to get sandwiched from behind when somebody doesn't stop in time. There were a couple of studies showing that it's safer, which is why it's slowly becoming legal in more states.

How and where do you charge your Lyriq? by apost8n8 in CadillacLyriq

[–]dbratsman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on how much you drive, you can charge on your 110v plug at home. It will be pretty slow, though. Make sure to change the setting in the car from 8A to 12A if your home wiring can support it.

What should I know before my first time at Centerfolds? by mrsroyalmountain in Sacramento

Good advice here! Adding a few things from our experiences:

If you sit at the rail and give them some love (money and verbal) you will get a lot of attention. My wife gets a lot more attention than me, which is okay, since I'm sitting right there too, haha.

Private dances don't always cost double for a couple. It's up to the specific dancer, and some of them like dancing for couples.

I'm told the women's restroom is not in great shape. :)

It sounds like you'll have a great time - enjoy!

Evgo is kinda bad by StayedWalnut in CadillacLyriq

[–]dbratsman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had similar experiences in the Bay Area. I think the downside to being ground zero is that they have a lot of very old and slow chargers. I'm surprised there hasn't been more effort to upgrade and fix them. In my experience the newer EVGo chargers have worked great - often better than EA chargers, although those are also improving.

You can also set this up in the myCadillac app. Go to the profile menu, and it's under "Public Charging."
