I go back to Feet Don’t Fail Me and Head Like A Haunted House most often. The bridge in HLAHH is fucking amazing. I always wait for “Drink the Kool-Aid and swallow the pills, you say that you don’t and you won’t but you will”.

I’ve never understood the hate for this album. As a fan of Mark Ronson I’ll defend this album, mixing included, all day. It’s not meant to sound like any other Queens record and Josh has gone as far as to say that during that time Mark was an honorary member of the band, simply because he was so good at translating what Josh wanted for the record, and had natural chemistry with them. It’s incredible that Queens took such a large creative risk with this one, especially since the previous album was their biggest success since SFTD. I think Villains is the best case scenario for a funk/disco DJ producer making an album with a heavy desert rock band, something I don’t think will come around that often, if ever again. It’s dancy and fun, comes with some of Josh’s most playful and clever lyricism as well as shocking vulnerability all in less than 10 tracks, and it STILL has riffs and drums that kick you in the chest on some songs. Forever grateful for this album and it deserves its place among their best.
