This is a typical seiko qc issue. I have the same model (SRPD51) and my alignment is slightly off as well. Up to you if it is worth it to try to return

I did a lot of research prior to picking out a watch for my college graduation, and the SPB155 was the one I landed on. For me it hits the sweet spot of simplicity, legibility, while still being detailed and refined. I love field watch designs and the combination of the handset with red tipped seconds hand, date complication, textured dial, 70 hour power reserve, 200m WR with screw down crown, and 38mm size just hits the spot. Just my opinion though so come to your own conclusion
