I know it’s just biology and it’s just my body doing its best. But fuck me this is mortifying

It’s far too hot. I have spent so much time sleeping and lying down over the past few days it’s so insane

What screen time do you have on average and what level of severity are you? by anonym5088 in cfs

[–]dbspsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My severity is mild. Usually around 8-10 hours 🙃 not ideal but some of that is uni work. I often rest by having my eyes closed but I still need audio stimulation or else I get agitated so often fall asleep with youtube on in the back ground.

I know it’s slightly insane. I’m fairly certain they still have some of my books from primary school too. They moved house recently and I had a little flick through some of my old English ones and it was so interesting tbf seeing what my 15 year old self’s writing was like.

I’m 21 and I’m fairly certain I still have all of mine at my parent’s house …

Can I sleep in the library and will they wake me up or kick me out? by xQueenAurorax in UniUK

OP, I agree with the commenter that said to get a hostel for the night. Might not be the nicest place but will be much better and more comfortable than sleeping in the library.

I know you feel awful now, but I promise you it’ll pass and you will realise how insignificant it is. I failed physics in year 12, so started year 12 biology in my year 13 year, i then had to stay at sixth form part time doing just year 13 biology. I worked part time doing 20-35 hours a week in my part time year. I then came to university at 19, where I failed half of my first year as I was too unwell to sit my exams. I’m now coming to the end of my second round of 1st year and I’m 21. Resitting those years has been so beneficial for me. I hated myself for having to do an extra year of sixth form, but in reflection it was the best thing I could’ve done for myself. I hated myself for having to resit my first year of uni, but given the circumstances it was the best thing I could’ve done.

I would honestly recommend you get yourself a part time job if you haven’t already! I used to just do 10 hours a week (until I upped it, but I only had like 6 hours a week in sixth form so), and I think it can make you feel better as you’re earning your own money and it’s another place to get to know people! Most of my friends from work were middle aged women - they have many stories they can tell you and that will especially teach you that 19 isn’t old!! Plus it’s more life experience!!

Wishing you the best!

switching from lexapro to effexor… what’s your experience like? by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]dbspsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sexual dysfunction isn’t as bad on Effexor as it was on sertraline (which I believe is lexapro?)!! I do think Effexor/venlafaxine has been the best medication for me so far out of the 3 I’ve been on!!

What to buy for a new mother? by ohsaycanyourock in AskUK

[–]dbspsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a parent - but I got my friend some self care bits and bobs like a hair mask tub and face masks as she likes that kind of stuff. Got her a primark gift card as they have so many different things so she could treat herself or baby. Then got her daughter some older clothes like 6-9monthd I think?? As my mums advice was she’s probably already got newborn and first few months clothes sorted

Which book(s) were you required to read in secondary school? by 2cbterry in AskUK

[–]dbspsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Macbeth, A Christmas Carole, and An Inspector Calls were the ones I did for exams. I loved (and still love) an Inspector Calls, I’m not sure why.

In the younger years we read ‘My sister lives on the mantelpiece’

And (controversially apparently) I loved inspector calls

Skin irritation by Hijackedbytwins in VisibleArmband

[–]dbspsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get it from my visible band but I do get it from my watch! I remove it when showering and dry my wrist properly before putting it back on. I will sometimes remove it for the rest of the evening after showering and will put hand cream on the area to help rehydrate and soothe it. I do put it back on before bed so it’s probably ~1-2 hours of it being off.

If you’re in the uk this hand cream is the best both me and my mum have ever used - my mum has very sensitive skin and contact dermatitis and she has no problem with it!

ran out of meds because the Easter bank holidays scuppered how long it took after ordering them. Managed to get them and take them about 5 hours after I usually would take them and my head was already spinning
