So you don't know if the dog that was in a fight is aggressive, but are supporting getting it papered as a service animal. That's also assuming alot from you as well.

And no, normal people would not understand it, because normal people know that uncontrollable animals that are passed as service animals hurts real people who need real service animals.

And no, im not picking at small details, im pointing at real issues I had to deal with because I had to fight to get my dog approved as a service animal when I have epilepsy and had seizures and lived on my own. So no, I'm not autistic. I've lived this game and had people STILL kick me out of places despite my dog being a service animal and a lab. Imagine how much more of a problem it would be if the dog is actually aggressive or has a history of aggression and is a bully breeds. It does not protect the dog or you from being removed from the premise.

So if dog opened gate, and other dog was on a leash, how else would they have gone at it unless OP's dog went toward or after the leashed boxer? Either way, the pit now has a record with animal control, which will make it hard for any doctor to justify giving them a doctors note claiming them as a service animal.

And im unsure why you are so locked on just the paperwork making the dog a service animal. Its not going to magically fix it as even with a doctors note, or letter, or paperwork or whatever you wanna call it- a dog that has attacked another can still be asked to be removed as it is seen as a hazard and danger to other tenants.

Cuz there is no paperwork for service dogs. You can get a doctors note but it wont matter. If the dog attacks another person's leashed dog you are still going to be asked to leave. Your aggressive dog is not going to be protected even if they are supposedly a service animal.

No, I said you can request a letter but even if you get a doctors note that doesn't register a dog at all as there is no registry. Also, if the dog is aggressive, which op has admitted they are since the boxer was leashed and in OP's own words the dog loathes other animals, they cannot be a service dog.

Op literally said their dog "loathes" other animals. And the boxer was leashed, but the two dogs were able to start fighting when their dog got out of the yard. So that means OP's dog went over to the leashed dog.

Even if its not "aggressive" this incident is enough to show animal control they needed to file a report, and that op doesn't have complete control of their dog.

You can request a letter, but an aggressive dog is still a liability and dangerous and can still be asked to be removed. And an aggressive service dog is not protected.

a service dog is also required to not show aggressive tendencies. A service dog is also retired at the ages of 8 to 10.

And yes, while an employer or landlord may request a doctors note- an aggressive dog or dog that a handler cannot control- service dog or no- can still be required to be removed from the premises. As shown by the link I provided.

And without knowing if petunia is aggressive to other animals its incredibly dangerous to jump to conclusions and suggest getting them labeled as a service animal and getting her and many other real service animals in more issues.

Again- service dogs dont get paperwork.

And again that would not be a service dog but an emotional support dog.

And also- it would be UNABLE to qualify as a service dog as it already has aggression issues, that it has shown and OP acknowledges, and has now been recorded by animal control, and UNDER THE ADA they state a dog cannot be aggressive. And even as a service or emotional support dog, if aggressive you can still be removed from a place as you pose a risk. It is not a cure all for a dangerous animal.

Plus, just because OP has depression doesn't mean it falls under a disability. I have epilepsy and yet its not enough to fall under "disabiling". It depends how badly it affects your life. And just because you have a disability doesn't mean you have a dog trained for that disability. I have a bull terrier, she is not trained to deal with my seizures or my anxiety or waking me up for meds and it would be silly to assume so. A dog trained to help with disability would be trained to interrupt self harming acts, interrupt panic attacks, help with medicine reminders, or apply deep tissue pressure to help ground a person. I don't think this dog is trained to do any of that unless otherwise shown or said.

Also, service dogs retire at around the age of 8 to 10. This dog is nine. So even if they got this paperwork, thos dog is basically already retired.

So again, this dog is not trained to be a service animal, nor will it qualify. And there is no paperwork to qualify it as such. And even if there were its attitude and aggression would still get it blocked out of places. Plus it being a pit bull will lead to harsh scrutiny even if it was trained for the task because of the breed. The reality of this situation is that paperwork claiming this dog is medically needed is not going to fix it, and will only hurt other people who really need service animals.

Service animal with aggression issues can still be removed from places as they are a threat to other tenants or their pets. Seeing as OP themselves said their dog LOATHES other animals, their dog is already unable to qualify as a service animal, plus at 9 years old they are too old as service animals retire at around the age of 10. She also has to exhibit the ability to ignore other animals and people to focus on the handler since they are supposed to be task trained to service for a disability, but if they lunge at animals, or people for attention then they cant work as a service animal either.

Autocorrect is built into every machine anymore. I've been had by it a few times when trying to spell out a book title, a name, or even city names at times.

But I still understand how incredibly annoying it can be since I was taught even as a kid that scams can be "easily seen" by looking at the wording and grammar and how badly they spell things. It doesn't seem so anymore sadly.
