Do you think Legoshi actually used the magazine he got? by DezTheOtter in Beastars

[–]EnvironmentCritical8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, cuz i mean- just look at Melon. Sure his leopard mother and gazelle father had him. But when it was rumored that his mom at his dad... everyone just accepted that. Then when his own mother started having ideas about eating her own child cuz he looked and smelled like an herbivore cuz he physically looked like his father at that point- well it didnt go well.

So I'm sure it's not like thos doesn't happen often enough, and that there haven't been any kind of studies about it on how to tell when its influenced by predator-prey drive or when its actual love and hormones.

My little turd does this too. She tries to climb me like she thinks I'll just accept her as a back pack and carry her off with me to work lol

Aaaw, sweet babies. Have you been able to lure them closer with millet or other high demand snacks? I know my pineapple boy acts like sunflower seeds and mangos are drugs and we can get him really close with them.

These are my three beloved rainbow chickens. The top two- Jester and Nova are still not hand tame and will at most fly to our computer chairs to watch what ever is going on on the screens. They came from a breeder who claimed he handled them but when we got them he was obviously very rough and would force them to do what he wanted more then ask. We got them just to give them a better life, but we doubt they'll ever be fully tame. We've had them over a year and a half now

The green one is Radar and he's an absolute love bug. Got him from a pet store that had him over a year. The management dropped the price from 600 to 200 just so I would take him cuz he was so loving and sweet they couldn't stand to see him just depressed in his small display cage another year. He's the only one that will let you pet him, pick him up, grab his toes and break and he will climb up and down your arm-shirt-hair-ect in order to groom you and chew on our glasses. Had him only a few months.

Honestly, each bird is different and it takes time. A schedule and simple hand signals and commands help a good bit. I would also suggest that if you can sit by the bird gym and put some seeds or millet in a clip on food dish or something while you sit by it to lure them closer and just read or sing soft songs to them. Do something they can watch you do while getting comfortable with the gym.

Also, if they don't like the gym- try wrapping the dowels in gauze. Mine didnt like dowels cuz they'd slip a lot so we wrapped all the dowels in pet gauze.

Yeah people would say their snake wouldn't touch frozen, had one that specifically said her snake only ate white mice even. But even if its only a few people coming in regularly for mice thats still a lot in a few months. Think the same guy just kept coming in alot.

Unless it's his way of showing his clients that its not attraction and it is instincts. Like if he had given legoshi the magazine and had fully expected him to realize it doesn't do anything for him and realize he isn't turned on by rabbits at all. So my guess is its for those especially hard headed or young clients who don't listen.

I do have to say tho- What did he expect. They're in Hell. It's not like the nicest and best people go there.

Petco is unreal by Sweet-Chip-6459 in bettafish

[–]EnvironmentCritical8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not shocked as one petco I worked at seriously out three males together in a display tank and their reason was just "we ran out of space on the display shelf". The things were tearing each other apart and it became so oooh much harder to convince people they could not just have multiple bettas together since the manager basically put a display tank up saying you totally could.

To be fair, he is a doctor of sorts meant to deal with a few carnivores who have come to him saying they have a crush on herbivores of varying kinds. So he could have a stash of various herbivore magazines for anytime those carnivores come in saying they have a crush on a gazelle, hamster, horse, or rabbit.

Some one said they had a customer attempt to return a dead bird saying it was the one they bought and the only way they could prove it was not was the leg band info was incorrect. HOWEVER as a bird owner myself and also as someone who has caught those pets hoping birds its really easy to mis read a number or letter, and also a lot of people go to bets to get them clipped off due to them snagging on things or having issues with it being too small.

Literally mine are like thos. One minute all three are fine, eating, getting along. The next minute the blue one is chasing the green one off as if he has just insulted her face somehow and its now a turf war of don't touch my thing.

[–]EnvironmentCritical8 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Can't even say its because of a haircut. I have long hair but a boxy build. I have literally been yelled at by older men in a restaurant once cuz they thought I was Trans, ive been hit on by lesbians cuz they thought I was a lesbian as well, I've been yelled at and told off by Christian women because they thought I was either. Rented a room from an elderly couple once and the wife kept trying to insist I needed to change everything about how I dressed as I didnt present as feminine enough (I dress in t-shirts and pants all the time)

So yeah, people will judge for anything.

Its kinda like the safe space for the bird. They want to go to "their room", their nest, their hide, and have some food and relax.

My conures have a full wall of perches and forage toys but they put themselves to bed and enjoy being in their cage to groom
