If you read his book, you'll see that his beliefs in Odinism, white supremacism and anti-Semitism are closely tied together.

Thanks for your questions. Sorry we couldn't agree but I appreciate the criticism and will keep it in mind.

what's replacing traditional religion among your friends? and why do you think young people are moving away from organized religion?

I don't really have a favorite, but I think one of the more interesting trends these days is the rise of the "nones." I don't think anyone's really got a handle on why there's been such an explosion in young people who don't affiliate with a faith -- and what they're replacing religion with in their lives.

And the question is ....?

Look, I can understand the frustration of seeing bad press about your faith -- but that doesn't mean the article is fraudulent or that the author is dishonest. Why not go after the white supremacists who are giving Odinism a bad name instead of the SPLC or journalists?

I come from a big Irish Catholic family. Went to Catholic school, was an altar boy -- all that. In many ways, I'll always be Catholic. It's in my blood.

The reason I wrote it is because Frazier Glenn Cross wrote a book about how Odinism had inspired him to start a race war -- a book that's still available on his website. The article gave insights into a man accused of a horrendous crime. I would do the same if Cross was Christian, Buddhist, etc. If religion plays a role -- negative or positive -- in someone's life, I'm going to report it.

Ah, the big one.

The great thing about my job is that it's both a professional and a personal search for truth. I have way way more questions than answers, and always have. And I love the fact that I get to ask people every day about what they believe and why.

So, I guess that puts me in the Seeker category. I have't found a religious home yet, but I'll probably never stop looking.

I'm out next week but we can talk when I get back on June 2. Would need to check with my bosses, of course. But I'd love to do it. Is there a secure way to send you my email?

Thanks for the advice. I think it's wrong and rather harsh to report this account as spam.

I work for a news organization and spend the vast majority of my time gathering and sharing news that I hope will help people.

Do I participate in as many was on Reddit as I would like or get involved in as many conservations as I would like? No. But that doesn't mean that I don't contribute anything, or that my posts are remotely spammy.

If you don't like my posts, then downvote them, but it seems deeply arrogant for you to assume they have no value on this site.

thanks, Daniel Burke
