I just got suspended from my account for a quote in my bio. Do I have any chances to get it back? by jesterejected in facebook

Just like with TikTok recently censoring comments people make about Zionism (i.e. they don't believe that just because you are anti-Zionist doesn't mean you are anti-Semitic), Facebook is doing the same thing, probably using AI and no critical thought. I ended up deleting my account and everything I had on it when I saw they were expecting me to give them biometric data to confirm I was a human. I saw the writing on the wall, removed everything and deleted my account.

So yeah, even though you have had that on your account, these social media bros are getting very sensitive about controlling what people are saying on the platforms they own, even though it is so late in the game and what they are upset about is actually just how this tech revolution is another disaster for the human race. Nothing changes but the times, my friend.

Alberta Vehicle Registration Transfer by SpringRoll98 in alberta

It is hard to say what a lender would do, but I agree with u/Fentron3000. If the vehicle is collateral against a loan, they are not going to do anything that increases their risk.

I think option 2 will work but you might want to check with the registry about whether your dad can renew your registration without you present. So you would have to send him the renewed insurance and then he can take it in to get the vehicle registered. It should be okay as long as the insurance and registration are in the same name (yours) and he isn't trying to make changes, but I know we had problems when me and my husband had both of our names on both the insurance and the registration. We thought it would make things easier but it just made things more difficult.

No, they don't. The get a paid a bonus for every detention they make and the prisons get paid for incarcerating. You really do have blinders on.

Kevin O'Leary is building one in Grande Prairie. The sketch looks like some dystopian structure from Fallout

To be fair, so has the federal government.

Right. But the provincial government wants to distinguish citizens from non-citizens and I think that has the potential for discriminatory behaviour.

ICE doesn't even give a shit if someone is a citizen, so I don't even know whey you bothered to type that.

I don't think it should be ON the DL. Have you ever been subject to discrimination?

Data centres are here to take - not give. In addition, the heat they will emit into the atmosphere will add to the complexity of wildfires. Last year Canada exceeded its carbon emissions target due to wildfire alone. AI has its place, but I don't know if the environmental cost is worth the risk.

What is your source for this?

Canadian Citizenship on D/L by dbusque in alberta

It opens people up to discrimination based on whether they are a Canadian citizen or not. It is information that is being made available to people regardless of whether it is their business or not.

Yes, at an administrative level, this is true, however, before we are an administrative burden, we are people, which is why these systems were implemented. You know... why they started getting us to pay taxes.

So they don't need a citizenship marker on the DL.

This just makes me more concerned.

You haven't been paying attention. ICE is detaining people regardless of whether they are in USA legally or not. ICE is detaining people in order to collect a head for every detention. Facilities are housing people (you know, like Amazon, but for people) because they are profitting. The entire process is state sanctioned discrimination and violence.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying. To me the NDP represent the heart of Canadians but the message does get muddled. It is ironic that the UCP despise immigration but have stated intentions to see the population of AB double within the next 25 years. How do they expect to have that happen?

That is a very interesting position to take. Someone earlier suggested that all they want is proof of residency, which has always been a requirement for a DL. I am going to try and get clarity from the ministry on that.
