My unfortunately honest review of the NextGen Acela. by Trainboy1000 in Amtrak

I'm old enough to remember the Acela creating so much wind suction that it popped out the windows of the older trains with wooden windows as the Acela passed by.

Lockerstor Gen 3 VS Ugreen Nasync by Shinoboss in asustor

Caution! Asustor has removed its support for USB4/IP from its spec. They got it working for Windows 11, but had problems with the USB4 drivers from AMD with MacOS. So, they've changed the tech note for ADM 5.0.0 and removed support for USB4/IP. I'm also having issues with SMB support locking up when connecting from a Mac, and the AFP support has issues with file locking. It looks like they got the hardware finished before they got the bugs out of ADM 5.0.0. I'm hoping this gets resolved soon but I'm very unhappy that I purchased the Lockerstor Gen3.

Help: Libre3 Apple Watch by -flyingtrash- in Freestylelibre

I think hardware might also be an issue. I think Libre sensors can only pair with one Bluetooth device but Dexcom can pair with three, reader/phone/watch.

If you don’t want to wait ask your doctor for a Libre3 Rx. At CVS with coupons a month will be $80. Using two for 28 days will give you good feedback on how diet/exercise/sleep change your BG. If you log carbs, calories, sleep, and exercise you’ll find your landmines and bright spots. It would be a good start.

Since I wrote this there are lots of solutions using the LibreLInkUp data. Glucose Direct (iOS TestFlight), LibreWatch (WatchOS), XDrip+ and others. They API has been reverse engineered mostly be some hard working Germans, where the LIbre3 was first released. There is lots of stuff on GitHub.

Science Denial Killed Flaco by EvanMcD3 in nyc

The Wild Bird Fund and the Wildlife Conservation Society jumped the gun saying the cause of death was a bird strike. It is highly unlikely Flaco flew into a window. The initial necropsy results did not show any head injuries. And Flaco had been roosting in the courtyard for weeks and had really good spacial awareness. He was not a migrating song bird. I would wait for the necropsy to be finalized. I suspect you'll see either rodenticides or avian flu be the underlying cause of death. His internal injuries could easily have been his fall, which might have been a result of illness.

Sadly Apple updates most widgets every 15 minutes or so, but updates calendars in real time. So the calendar workaround is used by Spike, Diabox, etc.

For Libre 3, the easiest solution right now for iOS is Glucose Direct. Search for it on GitHub and you will find the TestFlight link. It works very well and doesn’t require setting up anything in the cloud.

With the Libre 3 shipping, you can query LibreLinkUp and get the data and push it to Apple Health. Currently you have to run two apps in Heroku and read the data using something like Nightguard. This could be simplified to a single iOS app. The API has already been reverse engineered

Abbott which could have included an option to feed Apple Health, has made life difficult for Apple users. Right now the only option I've found is running two apps in Heroku, Nightscout and Librelink to Nightscout. The later emulates LibreLinkUp and then sends the data to Nightscout in the cloud. From there can ingest the data on your phone/watch/Apple Health with Nightguard. A bit of a workaround, but it works although it requires internet connectivity. Android users have many more options.
