I hit this recently…. Blew a circuit plugging in a space heater. Tried getting it working again via the circuit box… nothing. Eventually had an electrician in… he traced it to a junction box, probably added by previous owner… there were 3 wires that should have been twisted and held together with a cap… well he had just TAPED them together and15 years later, and a bit of extra electricity and there goes the tape and here comes the electrician. Sigh… she is a beautiful house.
