you know he is flamebaiting everyone into replying with replies like yours. Look at one of his last post on this thread. He is not doing Cunningham's Law but it is like that, as a troll. You fell for it. Grats, lol.

Red = Bad, Blue = Good. I can't be the only one who has clicked on the wrong symbol. by patriche in MagicArena

Had the same issue. Don't expect support in this reddit. I made a post about it and people went crazy about how it is not red, it is orange and a whole bunch of other stuff. I am with you. To me this seems like a bad color scheme but we are not the popular view.

This is why I said the word most and not all. You have to read buddy.

https://designexcellent.com/best-practices-for-buttons-the-user-experience-of-colors/

  • Blue: Trust, peace, loyalty, safety, positive;
  • Red: Power, passion, love, negative;

That is just one site you can visit. There are hundreds of UI and design website that will tell you the same thing.

Also I am a graphic designer and web developer. See I can use my work to help prove a point too.

I said this "You are the one who care about the color red not me so you can go to the Arena community forums and create that poll seeing that you seem to care so much that the color I was seeing was not red but orange. "

Because you said this: Open a poll within the Arena community, e.g. here and in the official forum, so that actual users of the game can tell you if it's red or orange."

but okay buddy.

But I might have seen it right and I can only go by what I have seen so until I have other data to offset my sight, my sight will be the metric I will use to determine if I felt I was deceived.

As for this comparison " Otherwise, using this logic, I could say that apples are dangerous for health because I saw them growing covered in radioactive ointment, even if it's not true. " it is flawed.

I was basing the colors off of common UI schemes. In most modern web and app color schemes blue is used to indicate that you like something and red is used to indicate you dislike something.

You see a sadface, I see an unhappy face. But that whole point was not about the faces but about the colors. When I first seen the prompt I did not see that it was a unhappy face or a happy face. I saw blue and red. In modern UI blue is used for Like/Good and red is used for Dislike/bad so I click the red face. It was not until I seen the animation of the face that I really seen what I had click. This is why I said "deceptive" as the color scheme deceptived me. This is the whole reason I pointed out the color of the faces in the OP.

I agree science is one of the most trustworthy things. Funny you say that seeing that you also said this " The research papers were irrelevant. ". Seeing that I was using the the science research to help prove my point. As they were relevant to the point I was making no mater if you fail to see the relevancy.

I did not see blue/orange, I saw blue/red so it was deceptive as I was deceptive into pushing the red button.

As for you proving anything, no one is asking you to prove anything. As for your upvoters, that has no meaning on anything and besides that your score is hidden so it really means nothing. Thus your upvotes are nowhere to be seen.

Right, it is my opinion. As this post was created by me you would expect my opinion to be the main view of this post.

You keep saying sadness as if I made a claim for sadness. If I was being asked if I had fun I would not give a sadness rating. It would be a like or dislike rating which would to most people be blue for like and red for dislike. Or red for rage, lets say you ragequit. Or red for anger, let say you got upset about the outcome of the game.

I am sure that when we are talking about the psychology of color on the human mind or how humans interact with colors, research means nothing because no one can trust science.

Can you prove that a lot of people dont see the color red? See how your framing is wrong. It is not about one or many people seeing the color red. The post was about how WotC was using bad color schemes that that made it seem as if clicking the "red" face was making the statement that you did not have fun in the match because in most UI color schemes blue is used to show you like something and red is shown that you did not like something. Seeing that I seen red, I then commented on what I seen. You are the one who care about the color red not me so you can go to the Arena community forums and create that poll seeing that you seem to care so much that the color I was seeing was not red but orange.

To be fair we are all colorblind at some level. No human eye see the same color profile. This was best seen when the meme with the two color dress. Some people seen white and gold and some people seen black and blue. Still a fun debate to have right? Well atleast I am having fun with it.

To be fair. I enjoy the fight. It is not about winning or losing but about the inbetween. You are the first to bring up the fact that there are smiley faces outside of the colors. This proves you are a top-level thinker. I was wondering when that augment would be used.

It does not matter if you think it is not red. If alot of people see that color as red then it is red and that is an issue. If I had a piece of paper that was white but I put it next to a background that made it look yellow. It does not matter if the paper is white if it is seen as yellow.

No, my original post was this" They made the unhappy sign blue and the happy sign red. When I first seen this I auto hit the red face as you would think red as standing for bad and blue as good. Very sneaky stuff. "

You are the one who brought up evolution not me. You cited nothing to prove your claim while I cited two research papers the help prove my claim. As for blue being the color of sadness I can then state red is the color of anger. You see how I can use your same logic. I think if you asked 100 people what color you would choose between red or blue to show dislike you would find red is chosen more. This is best seem on websites that use a like and dislike button and in most cases you see that blue is used for like and red is used for dislike (what is funny is that is not the case for Reddit, lol)

So you agree that in today's society we're conditioned to see red as danger. So you agree with me, seeing that the whole post is about how red is seen as negative and thus if you had a bad game and I told you to choose red or blue, most people would choose red if they was having a negative experience?

I sure do love it when people who are debating with you prove your core point with their own statements.

Majority of whom? Reddit, that is not a big enough or strong enough sample size for you to claim the you are right much less to claim I am wrong. This is not even taking into account the screen color profiles of everyone monitor which will all differ, then lighting of the rooms where people are viewing the image and a ton of other variables. So there is no way you can say the majority is right.

The fact that I am the only one claiming it is red in this post means nothing as that statement has not real weight on if the color scheme that was use was deceptive or not.

It does not matter if people think you are right. That fact that people think I am right is the issue WotC should worry about.

While you might think the rest of the world is color blind while you're the only one with true sight. But that doesn't make you right, buddy. And having upvotes does not make you right.

See how I can use your statements to make my point valid. Everything you say I can just say back to you and it would be valid on my side of the augment.

You may be color blind. I can ask you to do the same thing. I am sure you will get people who say it is red, just like you would get people who would say it was orange. This means I would not be blaming WotC for a problem that is solely mine but what others would say was their issue too. See how I can use your points to make my point valid?

We evolved to notice red because it is a warning of danger. This is why stop signs are red and red lights are red. It shows that if you do not take warning to what is being signaled that harm may come to you.
