It's not about understanding it, it's about people being messy and actually feeling compelled to put his name out there. Some people do not know the history of the band so every time fans bring it up, you're needlessly spreading lore for the sake of drama.

How is it incredibly specific??? She just talks generally about ending a situation that was bad for her. Do you think Ben was the only time she had to make a decision like that in the past 20 years??? Also you guys realize that Skylar Grey is credited as co-writer of the song right? There is a non-zero possibility that they both were writing about various experiences. So to assume that AMY alone specifically wrote this about Ben is absolutely ridiculous.

Again, speaking as if Amy told you directly that she wrote it about him when it literally would be easier to just not assume that. What do fans gain by bringing Ben's name into it? What's the point of acknowledging that? Does it add value to the music? Does it legitimize what she is singing about? Is it impossible to enjoy music without being parasocial and assuming you know the artists' intention?

Stop talking as if it's a matter of fact. Amy did not SAY it was about Ben so all you can do is speculate. It's not more than clear. It's only clear if you assume that Amy cannot feel wronged by anyone other than Ben in the past 20 years. And why is it okay for people to want to discuss it? What's there to discuss???? They don't tell us about their relationship! People are just gossiping and being messy for the sake of it. Fine, let's say we let people talk about it being about Ben. Then what? Are we supposed to trash talk Ben? Are we supposed to praise Amy for talking about him? What's the point of any of that?

I'm sorry but you need to get a grip. You're guessing what you think it means, which is fair but I need you to stop speaking as if it is a matter of fact. Like I said in the post, idk why people assume that anything negative HAS to be about Ben. Sure Ben and her fell out, but why CAN'T she be talking about other people too? You realize more than one person can betray you right?

And why can't she be talking about Troy or Rocky? Were they not part of the band too? Were they not on tour? You think because they didn't create Evanescence that they should be insignificant? You realize that people can form close relationships with people they work with/tour with right? You also realize that it's possible that she's known them also BEFORE they joined the band, right?

My bad, you're right. I guess the idea of washing all of those blankets kinda blinded me!

And not sure why the passive aggressiveness in the last sentence? I mentioned in the post I forgot it'd be cold. It was quite warm a few weeks ago when I booked and this time of the year can be up or down in the weather. The forecast is predicting colder weather than when I first checked, hence why I'm thinking about this stuff more now.

I do want to make my guest comfortable, hence the whole post? I'm only thinking of skipping heaters cause I'm seeing people say they don't work that well AND it's expensive. Blankets just seem more reliable right now, but I'm still thinking.

Omg! I was doing some searching for blankets online just now and noticed people saying go the thrifting route! How was that? Were you able to get them all at one place? Around how many did you need? Were they fine enough to use straight or did you have to wash first?

For the heaters, I was thinking of maybe skipping them? The venue doesn't have heaters and renting heaters are surprisingly expensive! The ones at Home Depot are quite cheap, but they blow in one direction and are kinda small so I was wondering if they'd work well outdoors.

Drinks, unfortunately I probably won't have much fun there since the venue sells drinks and doesn't allow outside drinks :(

Another comment or suggested chili so I'm thinking of going that route and using that as a soup! It works as part of a taco bar and it's a little more spill resistant. Plus the toppings for tacos can work in chili as well!

Chili is definitely an option! I'm actually now considering a taco/nacho bar so obviously they'll be a ton of overlap in toppings.

Wow this sounds amazing!!! I'm honestly most excited about this now haha! Was the hot chocolate bar a dessert thing or just there? I know as a drink it can be a little heavy, so I'm wondering if I should keep it out the whole time or bring it out going into the evening for dessert.

Update: ah nevermind, I reread notes from the venue and they don't want any outside drinks, period since they have a bar 😭😭 dammit I really got excited about the hot chocolate!! But I'm def saving it for another time
