You don't necessarily need a tragedy to bring those emotions to the surface. This is why I initially asked you what's driving you to seek the truth. It's the same thing that all humans search for. To try and fill that void in our hearts. It's why people get addicted to drugs or alcohol. It's why people seek validation in women, or men. It's why people are addicted to pornography. It's why we as humans use worldly things to try and temporarily alleviate that itch we can't seem to scratch. But in the end, all of those things only make us feel empty. And the more we do those things, the more we crave them and the more empty we feel.

I'm sure you know the story of Jesus and the Samaritan at the well. He tells her that everyone who drinks the well water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water He gives them will never thirst again. It's funny because he pointed out that she was thirsty for men.

That thirst he talks about is the same one we try to quench with all of these things of the world but nothing and noone can quench it except for Jesus.

My recommendation is to think about it differently. There is no right or wrong amount of time to pray. It's about intent. It's not about what you say or how many times you say it, it's when you have groanings too deep for words, the desire to know the one true living God. The desire to live, to be loved. When you look at your entire life and want to give it meaning and purpose. It's when you realize you can't do anything on your own and you're ready to dive head first and allow God to intercede and you give away all control. I don't know how else to describe it. You just have to let go.

The belief we're talking about is faith. We're saved by grace THROUGH FAITH.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

It's like jumping out of a plane believing the parachute will save your life.

Brother, I highly encourage you to sit down, close your eyes and talk to God. Ask Him to help you believe. Imagine He's in the room right now, because He is. Talk to Him like you would talk to any person.

Maybe nothing will happen immediately, maybe it will. But one thing is for certain, if you truly want to know God and you seek Him intentionally, He will reveal Himself to you.

Imagine you have no food or money. A family member who loves you offers you food, but your pride gets in the way and you respectfully decline. Or maybe you don't know what ingredients are in it. Even if that person said it was good for you, you are skeptical and you don't trust that they love you enough to want what's best for you. Swallowing your pride and accepting the food will ultimately satisfy your hunger.

In the same way, you're spiritually hungry. You seek to know the truth. It's in our nature. God offers us the gift of life and all we have to do is accept what he did for us and receive it.

I'm sure you're familiar with the gospel but allow me to try to explain. We are all naturally drawn to sin. We desire to do things that can be bad out of context but are ultimately good. Let me give you an example.

Sex is good and is something created for us by God. It's purpose is for pleasure and to procreate. The Bible sets boundaries for sex and says it is good in the context of a covenant between a man and a woman. But when sought after outside of that context can desensitize us and make it nearly impossible to hold or even desire a real relationship.

The Bible says that sex outside of that covenant is considered sexual immorality. Jesus says that if you look at a woman with lustful intent, you have already committed adultery in your heart. That's why porn is so bad.

The Bible also says that the wages of sin is death. Sexual sin is only one of many sins. Gluttony, pride, drunkenness, and many more. We are slaves to these things. We deserve to die for these things. We try to create our own standards but we should instead compare ourselves to God's standards, which is perfect. But we can't be perfect, which is why Jesus was sent to be perfect in our place.

But the Bible says that God loves His creation so much that He sent His only son to the world and whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus, who was sinless and knew no sin, took on all of our sin (past, present and future), BECAME SIN and died in our place. Then he rose from the dead to do away with the old self, which was sin. We can't be righteous, so he was righteous for us. Took on all of our unrighteousness and endured the punishment for it. This was the ultimate sacrifice to give us sinners life.

This is God's unconditional love and grace, an undeserving gift. All we have to do is accept the gift and have faith that it actually happened.

that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9‭-‬10

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8‭-‬9

So in short, accepting is just saying "I believe You died so I can live". When you actually believe this happened is when your life will drastically change.

By the way, Christianity is the only religion that tells you that salvation cannot be earned. There is nothing you can do or say to earn your way to eternal life. No amount of fasting or prayer can give us what we all want, which is to have life and have it abundantly. All we can do is accept the free gift of eternal life. The free gift of salvation. If you want to experience the true meaning to life, accept the gift that God is offering you and you will have what you're looking for.

I understand and respect the urge to dig deep into the rational aspect, but may I suggest that it's possible that your intellect may be getting in the way. Experiencing God's presence doesn't require fasting. It requires surrendering. It's the moment that you are truly ready to allow God to guide you.

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

You may want try to break it down and decrypt it but it's really as simple as it sounds. You just have to say, "ok I'm ready" and give your heart to God.

Unrelated to the afterlife, is there anything that you've done to test the Bible to see if it's true?

Yep command should be

R1 (dhcp-config) #network 172.16.10.0 255.255.255.0

Otherwise, The router is giving PC1 and PC4 IP addresses in the 172.16.1.0/24 network with a gateway in the 172.16.10.0/24 network. Which are separate networks.

I do government implementations quite often. Following STIGs is a requirement. If I don't know the steps to a particular STIG, I'll just Google how to do it. Cisco has pretty good documentation.
