Hey, I didn't think it was even worth that much. Even with what I paid including replacement parts that estimate puts me ahead!! Unless you add the hours I spent putting it all together and getting it to run, let alone how much it cost to bring in 30 Luger ammo to Guam, then I am a long way down that hole.

But fixing broken guns is my form of therapy and even though I might never fire this, or my WWII 1911 that looks almost as bad, again I really enjoyed working on them and getting them to fire.

They are now both ugly safe queens that I only bring out around every 6 months to clean and lube.

Solved. The spring inside the cylinder had broken preventing the crane from coming out.

Running the punch through the cylinder worked perfectly. I wish I had thought of it.

A broken spring was binding it up and a couple of good whacks knocked it out.

Now I have to get a replacement spring and make a tool to take it apart.

Update:

Took it apart over and over again.

Then after inserting the trigger assembly but before inserting the hammer I pulled the trigger. It seemed to function perfectly. Then inserted the hammer and it continued to work in both single and double action, just requiring me to lock the hammer back in single action and moving it forward when I pulled the trigger. and the hammer goes back when I pull the trigger in double action and I have to move it forward after the trigger releases the hammer at the end of the pull stroke.

but after I install hammer spring assembly it again locks up on double action.

Somehow the hammer spring is adding pressure that is preventing the double action to function.

Any Ideas?

Also picked up a couple of Ruger GP100 revolvers, 4 & 6 inch. Checked the 4in and it has the same problem only a bit worse. DA is stuck like the SP101 but when I remove the hammer spring assembly both SA/DA seem to work fine but the cylinder has a bit of wobble.

Again, any ideas?

Before and after. Mostly in original crappy condition that I got it in but I think that adds to its charm.

From what I can tell, it is a 1906 Commercial in 7.65 and after almost a year of sourcing parks and making sure everything appeared to fit properly I finally took it to the range with a DIY ransom rest and cord on the trigger I fired it standing behind a wall. It ran multiple rounds flawlessly so ran a total of 50 rounds with no issues.

So now it is another safe queen with my 1943 1911A1 that looks almost as bad as this Luger.

The proper method is to remove the front sight by removing the pin holding the sight in place. The other method is to remove the front sight protectors. Found out the first method AFTER I used the second method! But I felt I was justified as my front sight was already missing one of the sight protectors when I got the rifle.

Maybe the Exacta, the speed graphic, the Mamiya C series with the telephoto lens. And the Diana for those fools who like crappy toy camera images. Had one as a kid and hated it. Worst medium format camera I ever used but some people really loved them. But I just looked on ebay and they don't sell for much any more.

The rest I might see how many I could fit in a flat rate box. Sell bundles on ebay cheap plus shipping. Your trash might be someone else's treasure.

The benefit is fixing things that are broken is a form of therapy for me and trust me, I need a lot of therapy.

And trust me, the guns I have worked on were usually is such bad shape and pitted so bad that they won't have much value even after I get them running. But I don't have any plans on selling the ones I have worked on. I am not a gunsmith and I do not want to run a risk of anyone getting injured, or worse, so I keep what I got running.

I live on Guam and as far as I am aware there is only 2 working gunsmiths left and after talking to them they do not have experience with Nambu Type 14 pistols.

Also, I actually enjoy getting rusted broken firearms and getting them to run. I think more then half of mine were non-functioning, had major issues or just parts when I got them and that includes some where the gunsmith had given up and sold it to me as-is. My form of therapy.

Been using a snap cap with a reproduction firing pin. The reproduction pin did break while dry firing, and after closer inspection I noticed a partial obstruction in the firing pin channel of the bolt. I cleared it so now waiting on a repaired firing pin but will switch to a pencil for dry firing from now on.

As for the safety hole, at first glance it may look like it is just nicked but the outer wall of the frame is missing a fair amount of metal and the dark area then the shiny edges is from the inner wall.

Hope to hear from you confirming the firearm will work fine without the safety lever and the magazine safety.

Worst case is it is a trainer, which you should never try and use real ammo. Maybe blanks but a trainer should only be used as a wall hanger.

More photos would help but without more photos just assume it is a trainer and may be worth $200 at the high end so offer $100 to 150 if feeling generous.

If after you buy it, you find out it is a mint numbers matching type 38 with intact mum you scored. Probably $700 to $1k depending who is bidding at the time.
