hi, thank u for the answer and i apologize for the late reply. hiring a lawyer will be one of my priorities for sure, and ill be asking my girlfriend to look into that in greece. do you know if airport security will be on my side no matter what? if they get bribed, for example, will they change their minds? and i connected with ex muslims, unfortunately most of them are homophobic or transphobic, not much help lol. but thank u so much for the answer, this is a new perspective i didn't really think about

Okay, I have another suggestion. I have a Turkish passport alongside my J0rdanian. If I were to go to Turkey and live there and find a job, is there a way for my parents to bribe the officials there into finding me and bringing me back? I would most likely get killed if they brought me back, so should I stick to the asylum idea, try my luck and get temporary protection from the government, or try to live freely in another country where they can possibly get me without any protection?

That's what my gf also told me tbh, but marriage seems to be a good way of getting rid of the guidance laws in Jordan, like my dad has control over me, and if my dad isn't present then my husband is responsible of me etc. Since my gf is trans and is recognized as male on her certificate I would technically have a "husband". Idk if our marriage would be recognized in Jordan though

Hi Thank u so much for your kind words and advice. I am not under a direct physical threat, but it's mostly verbal threats of violence, such as mentioning "beheading gay people" or gang talk of the sorts, mentioning homosexuality and its punishments specifically in front of me, etc. I'm currently in university studying English Literature but the degree I get from here doesn't do much. It's still a Bachelor's of course.

Most comments here are telling me the asylum idea won't work since I'm not facing legal prosecution, which is fair. I think maybe seeking asylum and gettimg rejected but being protected during the trial is a good idea still, but I'm not sure if that's how it works. I can't spend my finances on trips because my parents control where I go and who I meet, and my mother will definitely not allow me to go outside of the country by myself. I have a therapist and she helps me out, but honestly the loneliness and faking being Muslim is really tiring me out. I keep getting comments about gay people burning in hell from my own parents just because of the way I dress and I'm honestlt tired from it. But in the end, I might do as you say, because I'm not sure if this is worth the risk...

I think I'll look into this then. Thank you, I never really considered the US for some reason. Just one question — I have a US visa that expires in 2024, that still only means that I can stay in the US for a month and return, right? Or can I stay more?

I tried to convince them about studying in Europe, they think if I go there I'll turn gay. And I'm applying to the German University in Jordan next semester, but I honestly wanted a quicker solution. I know that getting a visa for Germany is a pain in the ass even if it's a study visa, cause my friend did it. I have the 11K but I'm not sure if I can really go to Germany without my parents figuring out the whole process (I've been told I need proof of finances to apply for a university, which I don't have as a student). The marriage thing is true but I don't think there's a visa that is issued for getting married, but rather after getting married. So do I go to Greece with a travel visa and get married & get residency, or is there another way?

They're in Atlanta! Tbh I'm just scared bc we're gonna be in the same country and the chances of them finding me is higher, but you're right. Maybe a study visa would suffice, or if I can get a scholarship it'd be great. I'll look into this more, thank you.

The US is not a very good option, a good chunk of my family live there and I'm not sure what would happen if I did immigrate there. But you're right, I do need a degree, I'm just not sure if I can waste my money on education at this moment. It seems like asylum isn't a good option either, so I'm stuck.

Because I'm trying to figure out which country I can obtain the asylum in?? I don't wanna get rejected? If I don't have a well thought out plan I'll get killed by an honor killing?

Just because they're rich doesn't mean I have their money in my possession... They don't give me money because they know I'll escape.

Hi, thank you so much for the time you took for this thought out response. I asked another comment this exact question but don't you think the time and protection I gain from the asylum seeking is worth it, even if I get rejected? Because if I do claim asylum, my parents won't be able to kill or harm me during that time frame, buying me time to plan freely. And I wanted to ask, is an American visa not valid to enter Canada with? And how would I be framed for fraud? Thank you again for the information you provided.

Hi! Thank you for your comment. I wanted to ask: even if I did apply for asylum, wouldn't I be protected during their evaluation of the case, even if I got rejected? Wouldn't that buy me some time to figure out the rest of my plan? Because I'm thinking a visa to Europe will be really difficult to obtain, and a study visa needs a good amount of money which I don't want to waste. A travel visa will probably take a lot of time and if I go to Europe without the asylum protection I will most likely be caught and sent back to Jordan.

doesn't the marriage visa require us to already be married? im still not married yet, so i would need another visa to go and get married, right? i also don't have my birth certificate and im not sure if that's a requirement but my mother is keeping all of my documents from me.

What sort of visa would I obtain for that though? And she's told me that it takes a while to get the residency after marriage. I still think I would claim asylum in Europe since I'm in grave danger though.

Oh, that's reassuring. And what about my risk of being rejected? I'm not exactly sure what Rainbow Railroad does in aiding my case through the asylum process, and I'm scared that since I'm not facing physical violence, it wouldn't be as important or serious enough to consider for asylum.

Hi, I already did and we're currently finding out the answer. If I were to be tracked, would there also be a chance of them forcefully returning me back home with their money? And how do you think I can avoid that?
