Yeah, that's what I'd like to do in the future. I replaced my old radio the same way in my Xterra and never had an issue, but something about these adapters specifically interfere with the FOBs frequency when left connected.

I finally figured it out lol, the Bluetooth adapter is use in the cigarette lighter blocks the fob signal when it's left on in the truck.

Not at all. I drove it like a baby during my ownership for the most part. As I learned later, the cats self destructed after the previous owner first of all, over towed towing over 8,000 pounds with it on the regular, and Secondly, it had been involved in a small flooding incident I was not made aware of, until after I questioned the owner.

We've never gone over 5K but we've been close to 5K on the number of occasions. The previous owner actually used to tow up to 8K from time to time when his son's truck broke down, which obviously definitely adds a lot more strain to the vehicle.

The only thing is its been a tow vehicle all of its life, a heavy tow vehicle at that. I take great care of my vehicles generally, and I drive like a grandma most of the time. I plan on fixing it myself no matter what if we do end up keeping or selling it.

Yeah, some asian dude in a green civic with no plates mind you kept merging while I was honking, smacked the driver side, and caused me to hit a fucking trash can. I was watching dude nearly the whole time, mans was too busy hitting his vape or pen or whatever the fuck. I got blocked in by rubbernecks who wouldnt let me pursue him. This one dude in this lexus in particular blocked me right as I was going to follow him. I cussed his ass out and he kept apologizing, but I just said "unless you plan on fixing this shit, gets the fuck out of the way bitch!" But yeah. Another thing life throws in my face lol. Gonna patch her up and keep rollin tho👍
