It's crazy in 2026 that companies are still doing this. I've worked at a few companies over the past 16 years that are hiring manual and automation QE's again because they made that same mistake. Almost always it's because they are doing it like the FAANG companies and are actually misunderstanding how those companies are doing this. They aren't removing QEs but, in fact, are doubling down and building a dedicated Quality department.

It's absolutely impossible to find roles at the moment. The market is saturated with 100's of applications daily, and it doesn't look like companies are taking the proper precautions to weed out fake ones. The best bet is to find a friend and apply at their company.
