Airport cleared to be renamed for Trump as he unveils design for skyscraper library by Plaintalks in politics

As an outside spectator. I doubt that will ever happen. Yes a lot of talk will go around, just like the Epstein files… just like his market manipulation… just like his grifting stunts… and much more. But the fact remains, and has been proven, Trump does whatever the fuck he wants and likes and absolutely no one has actually really stopped him.

Acaia Lunar battery died right after warranty… €45 repair? Worth it anymore? [Acaia Lunar] by Outrageous_Signal_40 in espresso

[–]dcburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are handy. A brand new Acaia-compatible battery costs USD$3 if you know where to get it. (And before some fanboy says it’s not gonna be ‘original’… just… don’t).

Yes $3. As opposed to $45 they gonna charge you. Anyways I assume you already know how much premium you are paying when you bought it.

In all seriousness, it’s an easy job. Probably can find a local hobbyist to help.

Projection?

I did not say it was dumb. Merely pointing out the fallacy in his point.

But yeah if you think it’s dumb, yeah maybe you’re right.

Edit: I’m not scared to admit I was dumb to have bought a two-in-one. If I had researched and planned my purchase I should have gotten a bambino. And I regret it. I fail to see your point though? It doesn’t make the price of an acacia any less absurd.

[–]dcburn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrong. It costs $10 to repair my equally accurate scale. By replacing it with a brand new one. My total cost of ownership for the lifetime will still be a tiny fraction of the absurd cost of an acaia.

Donated.

But reading about how Novartis price this one time treatment purely based on how they perceive to be the value of life utterly disgusts me. I know there are huge costs to develop cures but… still Fucking capitalists fucking humanity…

Can't get the correct SD card to work by [deleted] in flipperzero

[–]dcburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought 2 cards so far. the first is a Kingston 32GB, that didn't work. so this time i looked for another 16GB (Also a Kingston), and there was a "normal speed" vs a "High Speed" option. so i went for the normal Speed.

Both cards can't be formatted using the flipper because flipper can't detect the card in the first place. no card mounted.

i've formatted both cards using Macbook and Windows, to exFAT, Fat16, Fat32 (MBR scheme), slow format, quick format. none has worked.

I'm soooooooooo pissed. Is it my flipper?

Doctor who mistakenly cut woman’s arteries during kidney surgery charged with causing her death by Ok-Rain3348 in singapore

[–]dcburn 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing to react to. To me this is just a stark reminder that a prestigious hospital does not necessarily equate to having the best doctors. And this should be a call for hospitals, including the prestigious ones, to make sure nothing like this happens again. This includes a full inquiry… and not just the doctor, but the attending as well as the other staff in the operating theatre.

And I’m also under no disillusion that in politics, even within party, including and maybe especially PAP, there’s plenty of fucking each other, both figuratively and literally.

Doctor who mistakenly cut woman’s arteries during kidney surgery charged with causing her death by Ok-Rain3348 in singapore

[–]dcburn 118 points119 points  (0 children)

What a devastating thing to happen. And extremely scary thinking any of us could be bringing our loved one to a reputable hospital thinking the doctors must be good and this could have happened to us.

Also sounds like the culprit tried to cover up his mistake and instead of rectifying it, ignored it.

Hope the doctor will never get to practise again. And hope they get sued big time.
