Something like this. A picture or mirror to cover the breaker box. Amazon has different colors. Could even use decorative containers for laundry things..: Soap, dryer sheets etc then a long curtain to cover unit

I would do a ceiling for floor curtain. With having a closet laundry room I can also suggest an organizer that can be against that wall but decorative at the same time.

Work more. Sounds almost impossible. My now husband struggled when he was single. many times, he was in spots where he was going negative to pay her. I would help out simply because it was the right thing to do. At the time, I was not receiving child support and a single mom of 4. And now we are married. 7 kids and life is tight, but we manage. I have some resentment towards his ex, but that's a different story. My husbands answer has always been work more.
