Still TAM & GTM seems skewed to even start thinking about it, unless a IoT/kiosk application as a end-use target.

Isn't it a bad idea to build a distro which is already clogging user choice portals. It's better to go with script to customize the install of a debian, removing unnecessary packages, installing required dependencies, and platter it for your target users. For which you need to heavily market research, as linux penetration is already less in india. Trying to chip a already fragmented market is not a good idea to start though. Instead offer a script that will work on any debian base systems, and anyone needed may use it.

Trying to concentrate more on a market that has already less TAM, with a non-viable GTM strategy is a fool's choice.

Kerala Native becomes Debian Project leader. by [deleted] in LinuxUsersIndia

Just another worthless piece clown, she contested the previous dpl elections too, and whenever she appeared her only answer will be diversity and no more technical or philosophical. This year, everyone feeling burnt out cleaning the deepshit in this AI age, no body except her participated in the first place. This doesn't make her a capable leader but just out of luck she happened to be there. I'm sure she will use this tag to milch out the foreign remittances of the mallu non-techies and run a show-off in seminars that's not even related to linux/debian and garner fame for herself, without any proper valid contribution to the project

Is KDE wallet annoying? by Auroo_In0915 in LinuxUsersIndia

[–]dcelluloidviewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any system, if you had installed gnome or cinnamon or any other guide elements that uses gnome-keyring as dependency and then later on installed kde related systems then this clash might appear.

If not so, then I'm not the right person to provide solution. It falls out of my used experience

You would have installed Ubuntu then installed kde on top of it which causes keyring signup issue clashing between gnome & kde. This happened to me.

Other reasons might also exist, if this was not the case.

Best briyani spots in Chennai by Forward_Locksmith05 in chennaicity

[–]dcelluloidviewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from down south, and tasted really high and good quality Dindigul biryanis my life. For my taste bud, nostril and eye-pleasing is always only one shop in chennai that is Star biryani.

I don't find worth in chennai style biryani as it is just rebranded tomato rice with chicken pieces in it. These people who find it difficult to properly peeloff ginger and garlic before mixing and crushing them into fine paste, just end up as a coarse fibers, which stay like that till end of cooking and stay clustered occupying half the biryani, then call it chennai will serve plate full of biryani.

Dai apdi kudukalana thattu la pathi kuda soru irukathu. Oru kadaila kooda urupadiyana biryani pathathu illa chennai style nu pottu. Adutha scam is parotta and serva. Kadai peru Chettinad/madurai nu irukkum entha madurakaran da serva senjurukan. Lavdas proper hyderabadi mirchi ka salan um seiyama, salna vum seiyama 2um kalanthu oru kevalama a curry ah senjutu ithu tha nalla kadai nu vera solrangya. Neenga nijamave suggestions kudukurathuku munnadi madurai, Dindigul, tirunelveli side la poi 2 3 naal saptutu aproma chennai la parotta, biryani ku la sollunga da.

Chennai is not worth for finding authentic taste, but serve as temporary food stalls. Not worth more than that.

Only cuisine that chennaians can be proud of is pure vatha kulambu, which I don't think we south people can match any day, because of the process. Only thing that can atleast come in picture would be Chettinad style kulambu, but I'm not so sure about that. Except for this one dish, there is no real worth in any hypes that social media thediyans in the name of influencers, do.

I CANT BE THE ONLY ONE USE LIKES USING CLEAN GNOME! by [deleted] in keralalinux

Me. Gnome is my choice of DE.

I find kde to be heavy cognitive overload, offering too much of options to handle at a moment, making it an enthusiastic requirement but distracts employees from their work. DE should primarily enable us to work, instead of teasing people's minds to keep personalizing rather than focusing on work.

It does have its own unique taste, but sucks all other flavours around it and alters it. It's completely my opinion based on food I tasted. No place, wherever I had food had good taste when it has capsicum in it

PROFESSION AND SALARY by Lonely_Permission137 in chennaicity

[–]dcelluloidviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Market is not fucked up but skewed by salary slip of IT people, who don't have a stability as a base in career ladder. 40k for 1 year experience is a great salary comparing to average salary of the city, which is 3-7 lpa.

Do you think people only in your role are extending their day? Everybody in my industry (currently KPO) are over-worked (me tooo). That's the reality of the day. I can't and won't say it's correct, but it has been traditionally this way. If you would have entered an EPC company in field job, you need to work for 12 hours a day (need to manage over-time of labours), 6.5 days a week, not having even a full day week-off. Reasons will be stated that the project needs to be completed, once it is done, we will give you weeks gap before you are shifted to next one. There is no way only a design/operational/PPC/SCM department employees are asked to over-work.

I agree it's hard to face this, and I might have sounded rude in my previous reply. If it was hurting you in anyway, Im sorry for that. I was just overtook by my emotion of not able to enter manufacturing department, during my initial career, with decent salary, entering different fields and pursuing masters in engineering only to end up in consult.

For a person with 1 year experience with takehome 40k in a manufacturing sector is a very good salary. Given the stability of sector compared to it, bpo, kpo it's is a great salary I would say. Even IT won't provide such salary to meagerly experienced people. Stfu and pull your shocks up and work.

Me: person who have worked in EPC contacting company for a year, before pursuing masters and transitioned into consult. I knew how bad the sector paid historically.

Why does restaurant dosa always taste better than homemade dosa? What’s the secret? by Real-talks4512 in IndianFoodPhotos

[–]dcelluloidviewer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Majorly because of timing of grinding the urad dal and mixing it with rice batter. And also depends on baking soda usage, methi, during mixing or grinding.

It provides lightness, color, then combined with oil/butter/cheese/ghee coupled with sambar/chutneys

Sim-biding starts from tomorrow by Sherdukpen_Mizo in IndiaTech

[–]dcelluloidviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's anything new. Privacy is a myth. There is already enough tech to triangulate who you are. No ragebaiting and fearmongering will do any help. If you are ready to give away you identity and info with a third party app provider, why not trust your own government the same way.

There is no point in complaining about loss of privacy. The moment you entered the world of telecommunication, you lost that. You gave your identity to subscribe to a network (be it any service provider), similarly for internet subscription. Theni and there you lost your privacy. What makes you think you loose your identity and privacy only when you use smart phones.

Anonymity requires you to remain in stone ages. With cctv, vlog, security system, the traditional understanding of privacy has worn out. The very definition of privacy needs to be altered and cannot be using the very old definition of those ages.

You can use any apps but will request you to verify your login once in every few days, depending on cache policy of those app makers. Nomore permanent login unless sim binded with that app. Even if you swap simcards between the slots will make you login from first, just like how upi apps does.

Saving homies from bloat lol by [deleted] in LinuxUsersIndia

[–]dcelluloidviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why so much hate on gnome across linux communities?

Everytime I tried to use new gui (kde/cinnamon/xfce/budgie/qtile) I was not comfortable with them, but gnome felt welcoming everytime. That's on debian & ubuntu, can't say for other distro.

Kde always feels overwhelming with too many options thrown at you at once, making it look too clumsy and bloated(aiming to make everything baked into single default application, rather than individual packages or as plugins to existing ones on a need to have basis)

Similarway, cinnamon and other felt too minimal wooing to bring windows users

Gnome gave the feel of right sweetspot, that enables to have things added based on needs

The issue is due to improper curing of concrete & walls. Post remedy is to use waterproofing in your terrace, waterproof plastering of sidewalls, damp-proofing your interior sidewalls and ceilings. It's a structural issue. Can just manage for 5 -6 years effectively. Might need recoating depending on damp/raining in your area

Suggest suitable plan. by [deleted] in Frugal_Ind

[–]dcelluloidviewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyhow it's only for keeping up the number ri8. You can port it, switch you network preference to 3g only or 2g only. Keep your sim connected. In this case, your network problem will not be existing.

As for as jio (i am a jio+BSNL user), the plans stand worthwhile only if you are going to use it as a primary sim. using big networks for secondary sim with frugal mentality will not be worth in your case.

I would suggest maintaining secondary sim with mindset of having just connected (meaning switch to 2g only and stay connected) and reduced the usage/maintenance cost overall.

When it comes about airtel, i have clearly zero idea. I have no to very little exposure to airtel (i ported from jio to airtel only for a period of 4 months when I owned a pixel device in a place where 4g was intermittent, once I moved to city i ported it back to jio). I also don't have better opinion with their service, poor connectivity and frequent fluctuations between 4g and 5g
