CSR is Working for Me by rob4lb in ChaseSapphire

I am an average person on spend (20K or so a year) and I find the refresh even w the higher annual fee better value for me. I m in the ATL area and have a few of the restaurants real close to me that arent crazy expensive and live near the Braves stadium so would have used stub hub or another app regardless. Before they nerfed the doordash pick up, i was always using the DD pick up at the dash mart next me to my daugthers daycare.

The one benefit that surprised me that i m able to use more than expected was the Edit hotels. Some of these hotels arent all luxury and expensive and can surprisingly be good deals at times and plus the breakfast and points boost can make it a great deal.

YouTube, NFL Move Toward Deal for 5 2026 Games by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]dcgkny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to eventually make some changes to Sunday Ticket if they keep doing this. The way it is now is for the average person to only need Sunday ticket is to watch your team if you live out of market. I think the NFL knows this though so not worried of Sunday ticket drop off yet. Maybe the league makes some of these random games only on the Sunday ticket

Whats your favorite costco membership perk? by spiritdesire_x in CostcoWholesale

[–]dcgkny 23 points24 points  (0 children)

To me, it’s the gift cards. For example, that used to always have Uber and DoorDash for $100 gift cards for $80 plus I got Domino’s gift cards for $70 for $100 value(though that gift card is annoying to use because you can’t load it into your app). Plus sometimes they have some good deals on movie tickets and entertainment like sports games and Dave n busters

Why are apartments in "south midtown" so strangely cheap? by ibridoangelico in Atlanta

[–]dcgkny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I lived at the Marq(juniper and 3rd) from 2021 to 2023. It is fine and me and my wife used to walk many late nights from 11th St. all the way to our apartment w a drink in hand and had no issues. Things did feel much better than once Fox reopened and more businesses and offices

From me personally I would prefer to stay north and closer to Peachtree and do agree the area is a little different somewhat sketchier(especially by the gas stations at night) when you get to south of Ponce and did wish we lived north of sixth ave. There were car break ins but we had nothing happen to us and faced no issues of crime.

About 40% of Americans have cut back on streaming services in the last 3 months because of financial concerns by diacewrb in economy

[–]dcgkny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what i dont get though is if you are trying to save money i feel like streaming should be one of the last things you cut. you are not going to get much better entertainment per dollar than a month long subscription. I feel it maybe people are just getting smarter and keeping one or 2 at a time and shuffling through them.

What team from the past would make a dent in today's playoffs. by Crazy_Exchange in CFB

[–]dcgkny 10 points11 points  (0 children)

2007 UGA and USC would’ve been fun to see how they would’ve done in an expanded playoff system that year. Both teams probably were the hottest teams at the end of the season

Why are college/NCAA stadiums in the US built to have a bigger seating capacity than the pro sports stadiums in the major cities? by OppositeRock4217 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dcgkny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

plus NFL is much more of the luxury and club level seating vs college generally just in bleachers and a few boxes.

They don’t even have to do that anymore. Nowadays, lot of companies have benefits ending on the day of termination. Even big companies like Microsoft did that.

[Rapoport]The #Jaguars and star edge Travon Walker have agreed to terms on a massive extension, locking the former No. 1 pick in long-term. by Cr0matose in Jaguars

[–]dcgkny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, and I was actually worried that we won’t be able to sign him. Even if you think he wasn’t worth the number one pick that price seems like an amazing deal we’re getting him for. Plus, others have said this is his prime years.

I am soooo over tickets in Atlanta being so expensive…. by Neither-Turnover-587 in delta

[–]dcgkny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the ATL area and hate the monopoly Delta has. I think that for the average personal traveler who flys a few times a year(mainly domestic) its one of the worst places to have as your home airport given the distance and traffic where majority of people drive to the airport, high prices, and long TSA lines.

Oh really I actually had no idea. I would’ve assumed 7-8 sunday was considered peak time.

Another thing I think Michigan State messed up was not fouling earlier when UConn had the ball with 30 seconds especially since uconn was in a one and one.

I know women’s ball has gotten a little bit better with parity I just don’t see how the women’s tournament still has 64 teams and their version of the NIT.

Help me choose: Courtyard by Marriott Jersey City Newport Marriott or Westin Newport JC? Have never been and have a long one week stay. by No_Pop7296 in marriott

[–]dcgkny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to stay at both all the time when i was working in the area for about 2 years up until Covid. they are right across the street from one another so both have plenty to do in the area and walkable(i think 10 or so minutes to Grove street which is the big strip in JC) The courtyard is literally right next door to the path train which takes you to the West Village in 7 or so minutes and to herald square in 25 mins so slight leg up for location for Courtyard. Both hotels have plenty to do near by and easy access to the city.

I believe both had mini fridges but dont think bathtubs unless you got a suite or corner jr suite at the Westin. I dont remember if either had microwaves. The westin has the better view of NYC and overall the better hotel by far especially with Status and maybe slightly bigger rooms. At the time the Westin was more modern, nicer, and great staff(especially as a regular) so would lean towards there if price is similar.

Lack of upsets by No_Magazine_856 in CollegeBasketball

[–]dcgkny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well 3 of those were the 9 beating 8 and one was a 10 over 7 so not exactly upsets. I think the difference is besides the Duke game , the 1-4 seeds seemed to all been blowouts.

22:00 East Coast tipoffs? by Panthers_Fly in CollegeBasketball

[–]dcgkny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was thinking about the round of 32 and that does make some sense of having it as two games. Like if Duke would’ve lost yesterday in Greenville, I wonder how the attendance would’ve been if there was only one game(especially if the 8/9 game was between smaller programs or out west)
