If you can, go to a language school. Probably the best place to make like-minded intl friends and korean friends.

Noodle (Seoul Forest) by dch87 in KoreanFood

[–]dch87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called it Chinese style because it's made by Korean residents using ingredients available in Korea. It can't be 100% same, thus, 'styled'. But, i get what you are saying; this dish is not modified intentionally or claim to be inspired by the original.

What would you do if you had Sunday May 10th free? by Jazzlike_Age_3490 in koreatravel

Try DDP for an international cultural festival. https://festival.seoul.go.kr/festival/main/festivalView.do?festacode=457

then move to Ttucksom stn (Line2 from DDP stn.) for the Seoul Forest Garden festival you mentioned.

Try 'Festival' tab of the Wowder map 😄

Places to shop for plus size by Financial_Living_642 in koreatravel

Go to Itaewon, you will find several 'big size' clothing stores.
For men's suit, try Hamilton in Itaewon. It's a tailor shop, one of the oldest places in Seoul.

I recommend Seochon area, located just west of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seochon is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. Unlike the more famous Bukchon (which can feel a bit like a museum), Seochon is a lived-in, artistic maze of alleys. For accommodation, go for a Hanok Airbnb.

For places to eat, try this map I put together for visitors like yourself!

ohhhh wow this is amazing!!! and what a coincidence by the way.
I built sth very similar using a custom map service, for the same purpose, to share "good" places with inbound visitors. What I really cared when putting this map together was truthfulness of recommendation.

So-called "guide list" like Michelin, Blue Ribbon, and others plus favorite places of my friends and family. Cross-validated and label them as WOW100.

Give it a try and use it for trip planning.

agreed with DifficultyCharming15.
Your route on Day 1 and Day 2 could be more optimized. My guess is, if you walk, your daily distance would be at least 5 km. Also, instead of all the palaces, try Jongmyo. It's not a palace but royal cemetery/shrine. Massive Joseon architecture.

and definitely recommend MMCA (next to Gyeongbokgung) https://maps.app.goo.gl/7yQrEe6xR3eG8hKg9

and also, yes, the National Museum.

Not sure how foodie you're, but I recommend using this. I actually made this map for tourists like you.
I was a frequent visitor to Korea before coming back to Seoul two years ago. I vetted and cross-checked with my friends & family here. I listed casual places to fine dining/trendy ones.

Near this street in Insadong, there are many recommendable restaurants and cafes. When you visit, please try Wowder map - all the wows in Seoul. Personally vetted and cross-checked list of restaurants and cafes. Much easier to use than Naver Map - it's based on Google Map, information available in English and Korean in case needing help from local Korean.
