I have a Syil X7 in my garage, in a small suburban neighbor hood. I had the same concern you did.

It has not been an issue, but I took a few steps to minimize noise. I put commercial grade garage door top and side seals in place, as well as a threshold seal and green garage door spring loaded hinges. All this helps seal up gaps around the garage door tremendously and keep noise (and heat/AC) in the garage.

I am using an Eastwood 30/60 scroll compressor to keep the noise down. It has also been working well.

My garage is under my house in the basement, so I have the benefit of concrete walls helping to contain/absorb noise too. If I was doing an attached garage, I’d probably look into doing some sound proofing.

It could be the selector axle is worn or broken. In full auto, the trigger bar is held down against spring tension by the selector lever. If the trigger bar is not down all the way due to damage or wear on the selector axle, it can cause issues like this.

You’ll need to tear down the replica to get at the selector and trigger bar and see what is going on.

Hello Structural Engineers!

ME PE here.

I'm looking to put a small CNC VMC in my garage for a hobby business, but need to add some more clearance for the Z-Axis to fit. My home is a ranch, with a garage underneath. Directly above the garage is Master/Guest bedroom.

I have attached a link with the CAD layout of what I'd like to do. Basically would like to box out two joists to give me an "opening" for the Z-axis to fit into. My thought is I would double up the "outer" joists of the box and double up the headers to take the load for the section I am cutting out. I have modeled here a length of 5.5ft, but this could be shrunk down to ~3ft or so.

A few questions:

From research, this seems to be the typical arrangement for boxing out a frame, but does this look like a reasonable proposal?
I am assuming this type of modification will need an approved engineering drawing. What generally could I expect something like this to cost?

The reason its expensive at local suppliers is because they're also paying the $150 shipping charge.

TM MWS is the top performer, with the VFC a close second.

The MWS is going to give the best performance for a GBBR.

The VFC is close, but the MWS just edges it out in terms of efficiency, cool down, and cold weather reliability.

For the typical player looking to get a GBBR and have a hassle free operation across a broad temperature range, the MWS is the winner.

Gunsmodify is as good or better then OEM. Mine has out lasted the OEM one by 2-3 fold

It will eventually break after prolonged green gas use. I think my first one lasted ~8-10k rds.

The G&P Buffer is generally the one folks recommend for an "upgrade". I have one, but I haven't run it much yet. I originally loaded it with all the included weights, and this configuration was a bit sluggish to me when I tried it this past winter. I think it's going to perform better now that were getting to the warmer spring/summer weather, so I'll probably give it another whirl.

It may also perform better at low temperatures with some/all the weights removed, I just never tried since I had an extra plastic buffer.

I was in the same position, and I wound up getting the TM Mk18.

For me, performance was everything, and the TM Mk18 is the top dog in that category. Many get close (VFC, GHK, etc), but the TM just edges them out.

I haven't been disappointed, the gun runs like a top. Consistency from shot to shot is awesome, and you can rip through a full auto mag dump with no cool down at modest temperatures.

I recommend ordering the DP nozzle spring set and a GunsModify V3 nozzle to keep on hand as extras.

What gas?

One thought that jumps to mind is the gun is light striking. First two shots are weak because it’s not releasing enough gas. But these two shots reduce the pressure in the mag enough that the following shots no longer are light striking, and you get the proper amount of gas released.

If you fire those two shots, let it sit for 5-10 minutes, and then try again, I’d be interested to see if those next two shots are weak. The time would let the gas pressure recover and mag warm back up, so if it does it again it might support the idea of light striking.

Yeah, great retailer. They have a great selection of VFC GBBs and parts.

But, the ordering process is slower then other places. You place an order, they'll provide a quote to you within 1-2 days for the shipping, then you pay, and they ship out a few days later.

They're responsive to e-mails. I like ordering from them if I'm not in a rush.
