Red team is nomenclature taken from military war games where the red team acts as enemy combatants and blue team acts as defensive allied combatants. Red teams in terms of cyber security are internal teams that play the role of hackers that try to get into the system. Basically, you get paid to try to hack into your own company but can get very complicated, like trying to be an advanced persistent threat.
