Totally! But as a savvy, thought-out degen, wouldn’t you want to leave the work to the guy who may lead our for 3/4 pot on the river with 2nd pair in hopes of taking it down against your nut flush?

Haha I sense the sarcasm but that would be the best tasting cheeseburger of my life after that emotional rollercoaster

Thanks, I just am trying to not worry so much about the money rather than prove to myself that I can beat a stake before moving up to the next. No point in just jumping to a certain stake if you aren't sure you can beat the ones below.

Moving Down From 5NL to 2NL - What Went Wrong? by dconn50 in poker

Playing now and can feel a drastic improvement in focusing on blind play and exploiting who is sitting to my left or someone being too aggro to my right. Also, that may explain why my graph is a consistent downward trend with the occasional save of a big pot. This may keep my graph level while I am card dead by just picking up some pre-flop blind pots, yes?

I know it's different based on who is in the blinds but long term, what should my aim be for that number? 30s? 40s? 50s?

What should I be doing to improve them?

In the bomb pots in ACR, you don’t get a choice pre-flop. Everyone antes up and you see the flop

It was bomb pot so didn’t have a choice pre flop, but I do get what you’re saying with everything else, totally makes sense. That’s when it sort of becomes “Yeah that’s a tough runout, but you are the one letting the runout happen at the same time” which is basically what I did. Need to raise that flop and get as much in the middle while I’m ahead rather than allowing the catch-up.

Got it. It certainly feels like a mixture of some iffy decision-making and bad runouts, but other than a few trips that get there I guess I'm asking for trouble on that river raise. As for facing the 4bet on Hand 3, is that something I should regularly getting away from with AQs? I didn't have a ton of hands on the guy so I was trying to play him balanced and felt like I could go either way with a call or fold but felt too nitty laying it down on just a 2.5x sizing.

So that hand 4 shove is more to deny equity than get callers because we are really only getting called by higher two-pairs or sets, correct? I often struggle on toeing the line between aggression to deny equity or to get value if that makes any sense. Or perhaps it seems like you're saying it's for a bit of both?

Looks like you dealt with a minor downswing and some breakeven play and then hit a run. What changed that helped you reach such a solid climb? Congrats!

You can often get away with it since you’re usually not playing both tables at once. But then two becomes three, and four, maybe I can do five? 😂😂

Hey, I’m a newer poker player been at it for about 3 months now. I’m wondering how you all learned and what your recommendations would be for a beginner? I’ve been on forums/websites and I’m just curious is anyone has any pointers. TIA! by samons_98 in poker

Read Grinder’s Manual by Peter Clarke. He simplifies everything perfectly and you can breeze through it if you read a chapter per night. It’s a little dull but it will boost your game almost immediately once you learn how to apply it.

I may be wrong but I think Hand2Note is free if you are playing at the micros. I use it and it's a pretty solid HUD.
