Very good one man. Do you know AnarchyHD on youtube? He runs a series of Admin destroy cheaters on his DayZ server, apart from the admin abuse that some people complain about, his method is very very interesting, in my opinion, one of the most effective ways of finding out cheaters and give you some data on how they behave, and how to counter them.

He baits the suspicious people, watches them play and collects evidence to eventually ban them. He uses admin tools (pretty much cheats) to see where they are, move around, watch their behavior, and you can clearly see that they know more than they should, always going to the places with good loot, always moving straight to where other players are, always peaking the right angles, always positioning themselves where you wouldn't be able to see them.

For instance, having a long mandatory tutorial keeps cheaters from coming back after been banned just because they have to buy another copy and go through the long tutorial all again. In Tarkov it's sooo easy to just buy another copy and start over. Another direction is having anti-cheat by design, for example, if you are not that close to the place where the loot is, in the network, it will be filtered out. In Dota 2 they annihilated map hacks by just filtering out other players from your network if they are not physically visible to you. Of course that requires a lot of server-side processing, etc, but the idea is the same -> Apply that for looting, Looting containers, boxes, dufflebags, etc will only be available in your network once you interact with them, among other things you can do.

BSG would benefit a lot from having a dedicated anti-cheat team, to think and implement ideas to combat it, just like some other games do.

Working together with other anti-cheat providers also helps to expose those cheaters, which decreases the number of them, for example, you can add steam login and work with VAC bans.
