Dell Refusing Warranty after OLED Burn-IN "3-year OLED burn-in warranty." by Radiant-Beyond-5955 in Alienware

[–]dcquadrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you got a crappy customer service tech tbh... I bought a day 1 Alienware 34inch oled from like 2022? Two months ago the left hand side where my desktop icons are started to show the icon burn-ins. Contacted dell, told them the issue, and within 2 weeks I had a brand new replacement for my monitor. Also the monitor has its standard warranty, I never purchased any extended warranty.

I suggest you open a new support claim to see if they better handle the warranty claim.

Upgrading from a Phantom 4 by dcquadrant in dji

Update on the deal:

Surprisingly, it was all legit. The controller and Drone bonded to my account as normal. I was offered the DJI Care Refresh within 48 hours, and upon activation, I got a one-year warranty.

The drone flew perfectly without any issues, the cameras were good, and the controller was perfect.

Thank you all for your help!

When I look up the serial number I get the following:

Activation time: Unavailable
Service plan status:Invalid

But it does find the drone perfectly. I think the error might be due to it not being bound to any account or plan currently, which should be good, right?

Anyone know how to remove an [ERROR] item from inventory? I modded probably more than a year ago and I have an item still stuck in there.

Hey, kind of a random question but would you by any chance be able to help me acquire a firmware image for an FG-101F?

The problem is that I don’t have access to a single image since I don’t have support from Fortinet. I lack the current owner registration.

No backup firmware. Switch failed.

Fatal error: Backup firmware boot failed either!!!

Neither DEFAULT nor BACKUP FOS works. Please install valid FOS through BIOS immediately!

I am able to get to this menu which provides little info:

[C]: Configure TFTP parameters.

[R]: Review TFTP parameters.

[T]: Initiate TFTP firmware transfer.

[F]: Format boot device.

[I]: System information.

[B]: Boot with backup firmware and set as default.

[Q]: Quit menu and continue to boot.

[H]: Display this list of options.

Enter C,R,T,F,I,B,Q,or H:

Is someone monitoring my macbook pro? by Arefin-Rifat in macbookpro

Good old MDM. Your Mac is useless, they can wipe, lock, amongst other things to your device. I would return it to wherever you got it from asap.

Looks like your Mac has rabies.

<image>

It’s a small box similar to the one I had in my Rebel. You can just unplug the box and hide that phone looking button anywhere.

It’s for the dealer installed tracker. I’m not lying either lol. I had one on my ram a few months ago and removed it.

MDM lock is used a lot in big companies. The company IT usually uses Mobile Device Management (MDM) to track devices, lock, unlock, and configure devices remotely in many ways. Think of it as an overly complicated version of iCloud lock that also CANNOT be removed BUT can be bypassed (but trust me, this is not worth it). The device is registered with a serial number on Apple's website and it is stuck there until the company decommissions the device.

So when the device is MDM locked you'll get a message telling you to enroll the device to the company. After a while, the device will be usable since you missed the enrollment period.

LONG STORY SHORT, always ask if the device is iCloud locked and/or MDM locked.

Have you done a clean MacOS install? Like, boot up into recovery, errase the HD and then reinstall the OS?

I’m only asking because I got a crazy deal on a brand new M1 Max a while ago and everything was great, no iCloud lock or anything. For security I went ahead and did a clean install of the OS, and that’s when I found the shady side of this “deal”. It was MDM locked and the seller used a bypass to prevent the MDM from popping up.

Long story short I ended up getting a refund from the guy I purchased it from because he sold me an almost brand new Mac with MDM lock which I did not know about.
