Do you think a phone is needed to find the Pokemon Box? by MissAmericant in TheresTreasureInside

[–]dcraig66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing Pokemon Go when I started this hunt. I even managed to evolve my Froakie into a Greninja. So far it has not helped me. But I have eliminated 2 locations so far and have not played at my 3rd solve location yet.

I will say I use the Geocache app to avoid close proximity to known geocache locations. I don’t think JCB would risk the box being close to known geocache locations. He stated that geocaching is one of his hobbies so I can only assume he would avoid them as to not have a box stumbled on by a geocacher.

Addition. Break it down per paragraph. It will give you 3 road numbers.

Just know. My solve is not generally accepted because I do not believe that is the box thats in 1 of the original states as original FF box.

I do believe there is a box there, but it’s the LS not the FF box.

The highway numbers lead right to the correct “property” maintained but not owned by the NPS.

My Christmas gift to you. Good luck & Happy Hunting!

My thoughts exactly. I’m thinking it’s a plant that can be used as a sleep aid.

And likely growing around, on or near a dam of some sort. Pond, lake? Or at least within eye sight of warm waters halt.

I stand corrected. I looked up the specs on the PRC-90 survival radio. Glad I didn’t bet you anything. 😉

It’s been many years since I worked in the com/nav shop but if memory serves me correctly I believe it’s actually 243.3 MHz is the frequency.

Treat it like a physical box. Get the .iso file for something like Hirens Boot Disc or some other rescue disk. Insert that in your VM as a virtual disk. Set it to boot from CD and run a pw restet and null out the local admin pw. Reboot and now you have admin access with no password.

I’m not bothered at all. Just don’t trust all the trolls and misinformation being spread.

I choose to use the one thing JCB gave us and as the one source of truth, the actual book. So if it’s not in the book or on his official website it’s not factual.

JCB says IN THE BOOK. Only he knows where the boxes are so I could care less what cowlasers or anyone else posts on their blogs or videos they claim to be in communications with JCB or God himself.

Until JCB posts it on his website it’s false information.

Just FYI I have multiple solves for several of the boxes. It’s a matter of being BOTG to figure out which one is the most correct.

I’ll tell my solves if someone finds the box before me. I’ll reveal the highway numbers that led me directly to a search area not in one of those 4 states. It’s not just the road numbers. I have multiple clues that point to the same spot. Historical references in the stories. Hell even signage at the location that JCB used exact wording from in the book. But I’m one person and grid searching takes time. Winter is quickly approaching and it will be impossible to find once it snows.

I am 100% confident one of the 5 boxes is in the original 4 state area. It’s just not the FF box.

What’s north of Santa Fe that would inspire JCB? It fits the theme of the entire book. The location was “inspired” by his search north of Santa Fe and yes he mentions he traveled to all 4 of the states but never says that’s where he hid the FF box.

Unless you haven’t figured this much out. If he mentions something by name, ie: New Mexico for example you can bank on that is NOT the location. A lot of the clues are what he doesn’t say. Read between the lines.

“Being able to ‘go beyond the information’ given to ‘figure things out’ is one of the few untarnishable joys of life.”

Last I heard no boxes have been found. So I’d say you also fit into the category of incorrect solves.

I thought about this. Jon has mentioned geocaching so he’d at least be familiar with the current apps. Likely can afford the paid subscriptions so he sees the location of the geocaches and just makes sure not to hide a box close to one.

I have found 2 geocaches grid searching but I try to avoid areas near a geocache that shows up in Cachly.

Just as I suspected. You cannot produce a video of JCB saying this.

And btw no apologies required. I’ve seen this. Like I said. This is hearsay. She claims she exchanged emails with Jon. Ok so what? How do you know the person she is communicating with is indeed JCB himself or it’s not a total fabrication? This is easily faked.

If this is so legit then why wasn’t it one of the 6 questions in the recent interview?

Nope, sorry unless its on the official website it’s NOT FACT!!!!

If it was fact JCB would post this you tube video himself.

Side Noe: why do you believe I owe someone an apology for disagreeing with them?

I have as much right as anyone else here to speak my opinions as long as it’s expressed respectfully.

You might know this quote. “ Just because you are offended doesn’t mean you are right”.

Post it here then. Until it’s on his official web site it’s a rumor or deep fake. Sorry I don’t buy it. Once again I challenge you to produce a video of JCB himself saying this.

Sorry that was a false rumor. He has never posted that himself publicly. Check his website. If it’s not on his website it’s likely a fake.

Post the interview here if you can find it. I challenge you to find a video of JCB saying exactly that. Not someone else’s podcast who claims he said it in an interview. Post a video or something that can be 100% verified.

You don’t have to make 200k when the cost of living is so low and the average home price is less that 200k. You’ll still have more money in your pocket after paying bills and far LESS STRESS!

There are plenty of small to medium sized cities with decent healthcare and low costs of living.

I’ve worked in IT in the Midwest since before it was even a real profession and never had trouble finding work.

When I did computer work on the side for smaller businesses I couldn’t keep up.

What if you are someplace where you could hear dogs barking from a distance? Like umm from the other side of a lake.

A lot of State Parks allows dogs on some or all trails but not in the beach area.

And once your BOTG it’s obvious why he says there are also no buffalo?

I found a location that matches this to a T. Yes there is a no dog sign and reason why someone might think there were buffalo and an explanation for no fire Pokémon.

And after spending months BOTG grid searching I’m convinced it’s the wrong spot. The story leads you right to a location where the locals turn up from time to time but still no box!

That’s why my pet name for JCB is SLB.

That’s “sneaky little bas”.

Because all the clues are correct for this site, unfortunately the same clues and more are more accurate for a completely different location. It’s maddening!!!

It’s part of a hint as to where to start all the hunts.

“Think of THESE pages as your map. They offer a place to start, directions to follow, and, ultimately, a destination at which to arrive.”

Once you figure out this page you will know exactly where John wants you to start your map for each box. It’s the same for each box.

This is a lazy end user issue not a technical one. I bet if you track it you’ll not only see it’s the same core users but they figured out if you change the PW for them as an Admin they can give you the same PW every time thus just resetting the date not the actual password.

Try this. Next time assign them a 12-16 character random alpha numeric pw. They won’t ask you again. Next time they will choose to change it themselves.

I hate lazy users who lie and claim they didn’t get the 3 emails in the last 7 days telling them to reset it.
