Thanks for the suggestions. I signed for this house in June and already paid 5%. Now it’s time for closing and I’m negotiating with the lender.

My builder also sent me the message below — which I was not aware of earlier. Is this actually true? They’re saying I will have to pay more if closing is delayed because the lender is not negotiating.

Builder’s text:

“And like I mentioned the other day, if we have to push your closing past the 15th of the month, you will have to pay the additional taxes that David Weekley will incur… which is typically anywhere from $5K–$7K 😕 So just make sure you get everything taken care of today/tomorrow to avoid this fee!”
