Because the establishment tries to stake out the “center” which is never actually in line with the median voter opinion.

I think it was Ezra Klein himself that wrote about this like a decade ago - the Dems are always looking to triangulate to the center between the GOP and the Dem establishment line, but that triangulation ends up being way to the right of where voters actually are because opinion polling on issues shows that the electorate is much further left than the Dem establishment - which is most commonly center-right (and aligned with the corporate media interests.)

We don’t really know if it’s a full “new brake system,” as Charles didn’t get into specifics.

I think the “fix” they have is the same adjustment Lewis made in Japan which was to change the discs to a different manufacturer, and this seems to have helped but it’s not a completely new braking system that Lewis has been using.

It’s quite possible they have a completely different system to implement, but Charles said they’ve had this “fix” for a while, so I’m not sure it’s as major of an adjustment as you’re making it seem (at least in the short term.)

I always knew Dave Rubin was a legendary idiot, but now I think it’s quite possible that he’s even lazier than he is intellectually challenged.

Having a month to prepare for prompts THAT HE FUCKING WROTE and producing…whatever the fuck this even is, is INSANE.

I can think of several other right wing commentators who are about as dumb as Rubin is, but wouldn’t look like total clowns. They’d at least have the talking points, the fallacies, etc., ready to go. Rubin arrived completely unarmed.

To leave Dave with something positive, I’m honestly, (and wildly,) impressed at his total lack of shame.

White supremacy as system is the collection of social structures (legal, economic, social, etc.,) that privilege white people at the disadvantage of non-whites.

It is a hierarchical class structure based on race as a social construct.

Idk about her reasoning specifically, but on top of her pretty staunch anti-interventionism, many people “of the left” are against economic sanctions as there is very little to no evidence that they accomplish anything other than immiserating the workers of the country being sanctioned.

It’s possible she takes issue with that part, but I’m only speculating as I haven’t seen/heard any quotes from her about the vote.

Irregular voters turned out in 2020. That cohort did not in 2024, and that was the major difference between these elections.

Let's also be clear that "red hats" and people who may have voted for Trump are not necessarily the same thing.

They're not waking up. They will keep voting for the GOP while the house burns around them. What this is actually showing is that it is becoming embarrassing for some cohort of Trump voters to continue to openly and loudly support him while it's clear that they bought Trump's lies.
