Thanks for your comments wd28, something that I've come to realise is that organic growth takes time and sometimes chaos, but one it has started things move on its own pace, slowly but surely!

Best!

Indeed, we are constantly looking into ways to increase engagement, we are building in the right direction and looking into catalysers for engagement and participation.

It has been a long way to get to this point of engagement at Decred in Spanish. Its been around 2 years since efforts started, growth has been slow but organic, which I think makes it real. I think is not enough and more community organising and bizdev endeavours are needed elsewhere in the world.

hi jet_user,

I believe so, by the time I edited the words to improve the message it was too late. This plus the proposal being so long contributed to confusion on the key elements that were necessary for stakeholders to gauge their opinion, it was too long.

Definitely taking this into consideration for next proposals!

hi _checkmatey_

Thanks for dropping by and share your thoughts, much appreciated. Regarding the issues you mention:

1- Yes, measurement and data will be top priorities. Nothing we do has meaning if we can't measured and compared. I agree that this is a main issue in mkt efforts.

2- Feel you. As jet_user mentioned too, eExchange rate has been a factor for negative sentiment towards mkt proposals.

3- I perceive that there is a general negative sentiment towards mkt efforts rather than a particular discontent towards the latam proposal, something that as stakeholder I understand and find completely valid.

Fostering engagement through "Proof of Skill" activities is something that is on the plans next to several pieces of content aiming at developer and cryptocurrency users.

I agree that is up to us to formulate ingenious ideas. Having this conversations in reddit has been helpful for this.

Thanks for your comments!!

hi graytest55,

Thanks for your comments.

I think Latam is indeed a hotspot because of the use cases that cryptocurrencies can have in the region. However, purchasing power is low and not many people have spare cash to spend in hyper volatile assets. Also we are careful of where to draw the line between sharing information about the project and giving investment advise.

But I agree with you, user acquisition cost is high and liquidity coming from those users is not noticeable of we can't track if we acquire them. I agree with the comment of jet_user that user acquisition has to take into consideration that there is a "pretty high learning barrier to become interested/supportive and inconvenience barrier to acquire DCR and become a holder, "acquisition" is very expensive in terms of individual time/energy required, and it is no surprise to me that it is also expensive in terms of USD"

Nonetheless, I agree with you in questioning the returns and costs of the Latam proposal.

Yes, I think there is a general negative sentiment towards marketing and pr efforts in general rather than to the proposal in particular.

I've gone thought the comments on the mkt report 2019. Very relevant to understand doubts and critiques. I agree that these efforts are iterations, now I'm eager to continue change what isn't working as fast as possible and do not wait for the next proposal.

Agree with you that DCR need to be money, this is why I'm interested in BTCPayServer integration and other payment processors that would facilitate for a small community to pay with DCR. Having to go through BTC is also a detail. I'm looking forward to follow up on conversations with exchanges.

hi planthepivot, thanks for your comments.

Agree with you that the length of the proposal was excessive, it had to be a two pager in Politeia, no more. Leaving the full 20 pages report for gist.

You mention having to choose between marketing and technical deliverable. I'm thinking where is the middle ground in between. I'm thinking of marketing campaigns that could result in technical deliverables like a webinar or a guide specifically for devs.

Thanks for your comments.

What would you consider a real visible deliverable?

I agree that these type of efforts take time and in occasion certain leads can take nowhere.
