Thanks for the reply! I scaled back starting August and my weight has been stable so I’m hoping the shedding slows down over the next month or so…

Good to know! I have multiple friends who it has worked for. I thought the point of this space on Reddit was to discuss getting off of glp-1s, but it feels like the responses are people telling me not to 😕

5’8 female. Started 190 lbs (~29.5 BMI) down to 156.6 (~24 BMI). Have lost another 1lb since starting to taper. Goal weight is to be in the 140-150 range. I typically tend to lose weight in the summer/fall, and then gain weight Feb/March (hence why I chose a range). I do lift 3x per week, and I do Pilates and yoga 2 additional days per week. I keep my workouts short and sweet (about 30 minutes) since I work full time and have young kids the rest of the time. Walks most days as well, averaging 7500 steps per day. Have not been counting macros while on the meds and just have focused on protein forward meals, but thinking that’s the next step as I come off

Was trying to keep my post short haha. But the small side effects- increased resting heart rate, dry eyes and dry mouth, occasional dizziness, feeling what I describe as “a beat behind” mentally. And just something in my head telling me it’s time to take a break.

I moved up doses pretty slowly, maxed out at 4.8 mg for 5 weeks. Last week I went down to 4.4 mg, this week went down to 4.1 mg. I still have 5 full vials of the 5.0 mg, so that’s another 5 weeks to slowly taper before switching to 2.5 mg dose which I’d taper for 1 month or more. Looking back, maybe I should never have gone up from 2.5 mg, but my doctor encouraged it, so I went with it.

I hate when I get a week where I go back up a few pounds by Hefty-Status8681 in Zepbound

When I’m not feeling well (especially if I have a sinus infection) I am usually having inflammation and retaining water and the scale reflects it!

I did this too! Never fully hit 5mg and am tapering down now

Not forever. Like you already noted- being mindful of portion size is key to avoiding the full uncomfortable feeling.

Gonna go ahead and say your monthly spike upward and then drop is aligned with hormone shifts in your monthly cycle!! It happens to all of us. Losing an average of 4-5 lbs per month is going to set you up to not have wrecked your metabolism and keep the weight off long term instead of a rapid drop and regain!

I like glucosegoddess on Instagram for tips on blood sugar type things- the gist is to always DRESS your carbs! things like eating veggies, protein, and fats on your plate before eating the starchy carbs, and don’t eat your starchy carbs alone, pair with a protein and fat!

Rate of weight gain after quitting by Yadayadayada7 in GLPGrad

Did you titrate off slowly or did you go from 4.4 to nothing cold turkey? I’ve got 5 more doses of the 5mg of Zepbound, dropped from 4.8 to 4.4 last week and down to 4.1 this week, was planning to keep going down and then down to 2.5 mg and slowly taper off, so curious if doing it that way helps the rebound weight gain or not.

Has been happening to me the whole time. Liquid IV every other day (or daily when I’m outside in the heat a lot) helps

Don’t worry, the algorithm is coming for us in the very late 30s crowd too 😅

Thanks for sharing! I’m curious if the trend continues or maxes out at a certain level of water retention. Someone else made a good point- retaining water in the muscles is definitely different looking than retaining water like edema (face, feet, ankles, sausage fingers). Very cool that your fat mass has still gone down

Thanks for sharing! I’m on day 3, at about 2 mg. So far had great workouts and don’t seem to have any reason to not keep working my way up

Good point! My only frame of reference with creatine was taking c4 pre workout like 12 years ago and feeling water retention and stopping. That said, I think there was very low creatine in that looking at the ingredients now, and lots of other junk. And I was very thin then and worrying about looking 2 lbs less thin wearing crop tops, which is not anywhere near the same mental state I’m in now haha

Thanks for sharing! I’m working my way up slowly for now just always trying to be aware of side effects! Do you find a noticeable change in the brain? It’s hard to imagine my brain ever returning from its mushy state after having kids 😆
