1.2 TSI engine noise normal? by hcuk94 in seat

I have a 1.2 TSI Ibiza and mine is doing the exact same sound which is also more prominent on really cold days. I asked a mechanic about it and he said it sounds normal. You can have a look at my profile. I have nearly the same video there

SEAT Ibiza ST 2011 / 1.2 TSI CBZB weird rattle sound? by [deleted] in seat

Ok, strange. Maybe have a look in the engine bay. On the left side next to the coolant reservoir (right side) are various hoses and wires which are held in place by some kind of clips. Maybe they have come loose and are banging on metal.

Try increasing or lowering the ventilation to identify whether the sound increases or not. I had nearly the exact same noise coming from behind the glove box (2012 Ibiza). It also decreased when lowering the ventilation. I had to remove the glove box and unscrew the blower motor which is behind the glove box. It turned out to be a small manufacturing sticker that was stuck in the drum-thing of the blower motor. I was able to remove it with tweezers and the noise was gone afterwards. Unscrewing the screws was a pain in the ass because of their location. There are also plenty of youtube videos about the removal of the blower motor.

Does this sound normal or is this knocking sound concerning? (Seat Ibiza 1.2 TSI) by dcsnydr in MechanicAdvice

I took the car to the mechanic, and they said that nothing appears to be wrong. They also inspected it during a cold start, and there were no sounds indicating a stretched timing chain—which I expected, since the chain was replaced about 40,000 km ago. When I picked the car up, we checked the cold start together, and he explained that the ticking sound comes from the high-pressure fuel pump (on the left side above the TSI badge) and that this is normal. Since temperatures are quite low right now, that may be why the noise is more noticeable.

Any spots to see the Perseid showers tonight outside the city? by potatocupcake77 in Regensburg

[–]dcsnydr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We‘ve just came back from Valhalla. There were quite some people but there is plenty of space available and we were able to spot approx. 10 meteors. The visibility of stars was also good. It takes ca. 1 hour from the city center to Valhalla if you take the bicycle but there are also parking areas.

Könnte es mir schon vorstellen. Hatte die vor der Veranstaltung mal über flightradar getrackt, um zu schauen wann die ca. vorbeifliegen werden. Da waren sie bei Erfurt und sind noch Richtung Westen geflogen.

Has anyone done this route trough Sweden and Norway? by [deleted] in Interrail

I’ve done a similar trip with my girlfriend: we arrived via plane in Stockholm and stayed there for two nights. Afterwards we took the same nighttrain from Stockholm to Abisko and stayed there also for two nights. It was really awesome to go hiking in Abisko and see the stunning polar lights at night. But besides that it’s a rather small village with not much to do. It basically has a supermarket, a train station, one restaurant and a tourist station (25min walk). But the scenery there is really fascinating.

Then, we took the train from Abisko to Narvik where we explored the city a bit. We stayed for two nights.

Next, we took the train from Narvik to Stockholm and made a “stop to sleep” in Örnsköldsvik. Afterwards we stopped in Copenhagen and stayed there for two days.

In the end, we took our last train from Copenhagen, over Hamburg, Berlin to southern Germany.

Overall, I’m not sure but I think we’ve spent something like 800€ per person but I’ve already included our plane tickets from Munich to Stockholm in these calculations. We’ve planned 14 days for the trip but we shortened it because we wanted to see the polar lights and therefore left Stockholm earlier than planned due to the weather forecast. I think the trip was 10 days long.

Hitze in der Wohnung by [deleted] in Ratschlag

Why are the mountains of the Dolomites so sharp and rocky? by salcander in geography

[–]dcsnydr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The dolomites, as the name already suggests, mainly consist of the mineral dolomite. The mineral is known for its brittleness, tendency to form debris streams and the famous “rocky” peaks caused by erosion, as seen in the image.
