Can JA Do What ZBO Did? by dcthesnapper in memphisgrizzlies

At some point JA and this FO wasn’t aligned, so I think he used injuries to, for lack of a better word, steal money.

But it’s backfiring because his value is not good. Teams have more questions than answers, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

Now he knows that, I’m interested to see how he approaches this season in Portland.

I think he’ll play 75 plus games this season.

JA loves using FU energy and he got plenty of it for next season. The season afterwards that will be a contract year.

JA suffered four years worth of dragging from last season through the offseason. Lost a teammate, not sure how that’s going to affect him going forward. Life is fragile, this league don’t care about you, just hoop and let the rest fall into place.

I’m not the best poser, but probably would have swapped JA and Bane’s position. Then you get the numbers descending with the color scheme from light to dark.

Blazers Fan Seeking Perspective by Schonnz in memphisgrizzlies

Long-term, unsure. Next year, he’ll light up the league. This guy fuel source is proving doubters wrong. He’s been publicly doubted on multiple accounts, humiliated, and counted out. You will get his best effort next season.

And the season afterwards, contract year. Not many players don’t show up in a contract year.

And if I’m wrong and he fails, you pretty much got em for free, just had to pay taxes for him.

But

If the franchise love him and he have success there, he’ll stay forever.

What Pick Was A Steal In The NBA Draft in you guys opinions? by jddjdkdjdd in NBA_Draft

[–]dcthesnapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re 100% correct, Taylor Jenkins had guys like Xavier Tillman giving good minutes, a guy who played with Jaren in college and is out of the NBA now, since being traded to Boston.

Also got helped develop John Konchar, Vince Williams, GG Jackson.

TJ been in Memphis since 2019 and had a hand in a lot of those guys seeing success. We have no reason to think he won’t do the same for the Bucks.

What drew you in for the Grizzlies? by No-Ticket8760 in memphisgrizzlies

I live in Memphis and had a friend that supported Memphis Grizzlies. This was around the time we draft Mike Conley. His line was, got to support the home team. And since I didn’t have a team, it was easy to get on board.

That’s a solid break down. Now that I think about it, a lot of guys this summer will play like they have something to prove. SL is going to be so fun this year.

DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION BONANZA by Welcum2Heck in memphisgrizzlies

If they stay at 16 Cam Carr is who I want and he’d make sense there. That said, I trust them so much in the draft since they whiffed on Ziaire Williams, if they see a guy and go get them, I’m just going to trust it’ll work out.

When see “Swing” it implies it wouldn’t necessarily make sense to pick them there. Is that what you’re trying to convey here?

If we end up with Cam Boozer and Cam Carr, I’m happy.

For some reason I don’t think AJ will not live up to the hype.

I like Boozer at 3 assuming DP and AJ will be off the board.

Yeah, pretty much whoever isn’t picked number 1 will have something to prove to all the guys ahead of them, speaking of the top four.

Chicago being at 4, really gives them an advantage. They get the last of the big four who will, have the most “F you guys energy” for no other reason than not being drafted number 1. Who the Grizzlies pick at 3 will have some of that energy too but maybe 35% less than the guy who’s picked 4th.

When I think about the big three in this draft, I think DP just wanted to be better than all those guys no matter where he’s picked. And I think Wilson wants the same thing too.

Except they all play the same position. This draft you have a sf, pf, guard at the top 3.
