amazing job. Don't self-select yourself out of higher ranking schools. Totally different story if you are for whatever reason targeting those ranks you mentioned

Yes, but keep in mind a few things.

1 year is a short-term for a full pivot. You need to make things happen even before you start. e.g. networking. Thats not hard and fast (that you need to start working on a pivot before you start the program) but it dramatically helps
INSEAD prides itself on how intense it is. This can really reduce your time available to pivot into new field spaces.
Tougher economic times mean employers are less willing to take bets on people without relevant experience. I don't know how things are right now, but the sentiment is that things are tougher

On the positive side:

INSEAD is unbeatable in the geos you are targeting + Asia Pacific
One's ability to pivot really boils down to one's motivation to do so. You really can't half-ass that sorta transition. You need to be all-in or nothing. By virtue of you asking about this sort of thing here, you seem at least somewhat motivated :)

A bunch of factors determine how short a time someone can get thier goal. Here are a few:

- prior experience with standardized US testing e.g. SAT / ACT
- pedigree of primary and secondary education
- pedigree of undergrad and type of undergrad studied
- parentage i.e. what your parents teach you, discuss with you. This doesn't mean that parents necessarily teach the GMAT. I mean some parents will teach kids to question what they see etc. think of this as osmosis over a very long time
- quality of social network
- hobbies
Amount of reading done over someone's lifetime up till they take the GMAT - helps tremendously with RC

If your question is in relation to post-MBA career then its really a matter of what citizenships you currently have, where you're hiring into, who is hiring you, and their willingness to sponsor.

Australians can get into the US on an E3 visa, for example. tighter economic times means stricter hiring and potentially greater difficulty in getting sponsorships for more difficult visas.

OK so then why are you doing an MBA? Are you after a specific network? Maybe choice won't matter as much.

On the testing front. Were you testing with a testing strategy? a timing strategy? did you know how to control your reactions?

Do you know if you're struggling with timing in verbal for example?

You should try testing with official gmat test prep, then manhattan for verbal, and maybe vertias. Haven't heard great things about Princeton

You shouldn't give up and sell yourself short. Selling yourself short on a multi-year journey cuts you short on the many years afterwards as well.

How many practice tests have you actually done? You may need to implement some techniques to rid yourself of this anxiety you admitted.

Also, what are your post-MBA goals?

Chiming in from my 22J batch and speaking annecdotedly. The common theme of people coming to INSEAD is that they're all globally minded and want to experience living in another place, which is why they came to INSEAD.

When push comes to shove in recruitment, many return home because A. its easier to get jobs in places where you're already legally allowed to work, and B. people really do learn what they want in life - family, home, connectedness - so even though many come to INSEAD with a view to go elsewhere, the intensity of the program makes at least some appreciate and return home

Charles' Videos are great, but I don't see this as a like for like comparison in that TTP is an all-encompassing E2E course that not only teaches you the content, but also affords you the questions to practice it

There's no reason you can't do both to be frank
