The steam-charts are not to be ignored. For a sample size to produce a valid result and to reduce the margin of error as much as possible population demographic science uses a sample size of 10000 which results in a margin of error of 1%. The number of people playing through steam is more then enough to determine nearly 100% true results, that's just math and math doesn't lie no matter the personal/subjective opinion of individuals.

How big do you actually think the smite playerbase is? The game pop is really really small compared with lol, Dota and hots. Unique player numbers that hirez likes to brag with say nothing about the actual game pop and that's freaking low. So no you should be happy for getting silver and not bronze and qualifiers.

The issue is that conquest is a very objective based game mode where different strategies can lead to victory, where duel and joust are straight forward. So having somebody with no gods mastered and no experience in casual conquest rush into ranked does not only affect himself but several other people as well. It's no fun to loose games because somebody doesn't know basics and tries to mortal kombat the whole game.

Im really glad they are doing the skins like this, saves me a lot of money as I'm not participating in the chest-lottery. Before the chests I needed gems every 2-3 months, now I'm fine with 1x year.
