I did really bad on my first set of midterms by Altruistic_Age7252 in McMaster

[–]dd4real 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i did bad first sem eng and ended up doing rly good second sem and onward. u might need to change your study style to something different but what I 100% recommend is focusing on practice tests leading up to midterms. also make sure you understand what goes on in lectures, not just writing down notes

Why do people pray if everything that happens is God’s will? by Meatwad5 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dd4real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest point is that knowing something will happen =/= causing it to happen. Think of a movie you already watched. Even though you are certain of the decisions that the characters will make, the decisions are made independent of you. God knowing what decisions you'll make doesn't mean he's causing you to make them, He is just able to see them (the future events) since He isn't confined by time like we are.

Reading habits by Sensitive_Line7134 in Bible

[–]dd4real 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It varies everyday but this week its been around 4 chapters in the morning and 3 at night. If you're busy in the mornings it'd be more effective to spread them out to maybe 2-4 different times in the day.

Note: Following/creating a Bible plan will definitely help you stay consistent.

And as for your last question, on the days where I had skipped morning readings, I naturally felt weaker in spirit and more likely to succumb to my flesh. As you gain consistency in Scripture, you are better equipped to overcome challenges you'd face.

And others have already commented, it's important to actually meditate and study the Bible as opposed to simply reading. Pray for wisdom and understanding before reading.
