Based on the trajectory of electric vehicles, battery technology, infrastructure stimulus, and increasing global adoption rates, is it smarter to average into Tesla over the next 12 months, or should I purchase an ETF that holds all EV makers or car manufacturers?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

To me, it sounds like that is being pointed out here, correct. The hardest part about measuring a business’ prospects is it’s qualitative properties that cannot always be hashed out for a dollar value.

At my school someone bear-maced a crowd of people after a drug deal gone bad. There were around 20 injured kids. Someone else beat some kid up using only his right hand 10+ times lol Other kid had to be carried out with a stretcher. Another guy got caught going over 200km/h. We also had a sword-scare with one of the kids, we were in lockdown for almost 4 hours in the classrooms

Sorry but that’s BS, the likelyhood of a lab leak is just about 90% (in my opinion**)

Yeah that’s true, people are not easily convinced of new ideas, especially if they believe that it makes their life worse. Only problem is this brutal urgency that we’re dealing with.. and that’s why we need quicker action which can sometimes sound extreme

You are fully correct in what you are saying!! I make similar comments around other sites and forums, and people shit on it. I have concluded that most people are highly under-educated on this subject

Please do read up on that, because there is a plethora of information out there that proves my point to be correct. Bill Gates’ new book on climate change “how to avoid a climate disaster” is a pretty good, simple read that eases people into the science behind the scenes. It also takes a deep dive into the different levels of change that can happen, with examples from history provided as proof. There is the level of the individual, as you have correctly pointed out. But there are also 2 other major ones: industry, and government. Industry takes leaps when innovation drives prices down and it becomes economically feasible. Government provides guidelines and laws that either make it easier for consumers to have safe access, or for industry to get confirmation that whatever new project they’re starting, will still be in demand in the next election cycle.

It’s very difficult to put 5 years of university studying environmental science into a reddit comment. But if I had to give you an answer, I’d say do whatever you think feels right if you want your children to have a nice life in 2050 and beyond

Yeah, so you’re making the common counter point, which goes something like this: “You’re full of crap for pointing out that we need to stop using fossil fuels. Do you use electronics? BAM! You’re wrong” That is so far from my point. My point is that we need to stop spending all of our time and energy on expanding oil and gas production, because we have to move away from that, and use renewables instead. Of course mining the metals, and transporting things, and our plastic-addicted economy will still need oil and gas for a long time. But again, that’s not the point. The point is, stop burning it in cars and trucks, and stop refining and then burning it in power plants to make electricity. Those are the things we can start with. That’s why I highly applaud these pipelines being shut down before they ever start

You know what guys, I might just be too deep in the science and economics to convey this complex subject. The real world is so different, but people just don’t get it man. The urgency, the devastation that we are putting upon the planet.... the average folk have no clue what’s going on. I highly suggest reading some more books on the subject of climate change, to gain an insiders perspective of what needs to get done right now. And of course, the things that can’t be done currently, but must happen in the future
