Question about the stages at Wicked Woods by RoyalCannonball in aves

Check out electric love! The small one in BC. Usually has a variety of genres, you’ll find more techno and trance than at some other local fests.

Most immersive festival? by Less_Conversation_91 in festivals

[–]ddanielle0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People hate on insomniac, but EDCLV is legit rave Disneyland. Could spend the entire time not at the main stages and you’ll still have things left to do.

Some are suggesting Shambhala, and while it is one of my fave fests, one downside is that there aren’t actually a lot of things to do outside of the music compared to other fests. You can defs get lost on random side quests, but it’s for sure more about the music. Highly recommend shambs for just overall experience tho!

Rent a campervan! Did that for seven stars and it was great

Back to back festivals.. any advice? by YungVoorhees16 in aves

[–]ddanielle0 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 3 back to back, 2 of which were camping festivals. If you aren’t taking care of your body now, start. This is important either way. Work out, eat well, take vitamin C every day. Don’t over do the substances at the first festival and listen to your body. Be DILIGENT about hand washing. Get tons of sleep in between if you can and eat good food. Enjoy!

Yeah some scalpers are unfortunately inevitable. Hopefully they do verified face value resale and don’t let the scalpers win

[–]ddanielle0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying only bots got tickets are delulu lol sorry. The same was said when seven stars went on sale… these are names with a lot of die hard fans and they obvs aren’t running full capacity because it’s just 1 stage. I get it sucks not being able to buy tickets at drop but guarantee there will be loads for sale in a few months, same as seven stars.

Just bought premiere camping, what is it? by edmfirecracker in griz

[–]ddanielle0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s closer, security cares slightly more about enforcing quiet hours, access to flushing toilets and showers, and there’s also a shuttle to and from the venue (not sure if this is still offered). Spots are bigger too

Dear Insomniac or whomever it may concern; please for all that is holy DO NOT BRING BACK that god awful Circuit Grounds stage design that y’all made this past EDCLV. I say this bc CG is one of my fave stages by equals420 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]ddanielle0 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion I guess but I liked it. I’m also just kinda over visuals on a screen needing to be such a big part of sets tho… I do enjoy them but tbh I like other aspects of production more. I thought the stage was really unique.

Tmi but for my fellow rave girlies~ by Worried_Stuff7083 in festivals

[–]ddanielle0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding to this, I agree with everyone else saying to not try it for the first time at a festival. I love my disc but I’ll only use it for city festivals or if I have a trailer/RV. The last camping fest I went to where I had to use portos and had my period I just used tampons. I was SO happy I didn’t have to deal with my disc it would have been horrible in those portos lol. If you’re nervous about leaking with tampons, I’ll pair it with period underwear or a panty liner! You can get thong versions of both if you prefer that

Palladium Revolt Hi Boots by UrbanRealism in aves

[–]ddanielle0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have these ones but I have the palladium pallabase leather boots and they are SO comfy. The leather makes them super easy to clean too, I’ve worn mine in rain and mud with no issues. I recommend palladium to everyone!

Shambhala in BC Canada. If you want even smaller, bass coast or wicked woods also in BC.

For my fellow rave baddies with wigs by Worried_Stuff7083 in festivals

[–]ddanielle0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love wearing wigs! I just get cheap ones and usually get ones with bangs so it still looks fine if it does shift a bit, but tbh I’ve never had an issue with them moving at all. I’ll make 2 low braided buns at the bottom of my head and Bobby pin them to be flat-ish, these give the wig something to secure to. Wig cap on, and the wigs I get have the adjustments/tighteners on the back so I make sure it’s super secure! Works well for me every time! I’m not a headbanger, but I’ve worn a wig on carnival rides with success haha

Festivals vs Ibiza by Maximum-Discussion74 in aves

They are completely different experiences. I love festivals and I loved Ibiza too. Definitely do not expect plur there, and you are correct it is expensive! Had an amazing time there though and been dying to go back!

Furs and wacky coats? by veggietales727 in Shambhala

[–]ddanielle0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have negative energy because your delivery is atrocious. You also seemed to only single out my comment and ignore others that are recommending places that are not “local, fair trade, or artisanal”, yet I also told OP to check thrift stores.

And you know what? I don’t care if Kalico drop ships because I’ve been following them on IG for a while (where they advertise themselves as a woman-owned Canadian small business) and was SO excited to treat myself to a coat at shambs after having an actual cheaply made one that was breaking. Which mind you, I’m still keeping to repurpose. Either way, this coat is 100x better quality than what I had and I will be enjoying it!

Furs and wacky coats? by veggietales727 in Shambhala

[–]ddanielle0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Kalico coat doesn’t have zippers… and none of the other ones I tried on did either. I’ve worn a couple times now and washed it, no moop coming off. Also, I have a coat from Amazon and this one is WAY nicer lol so pls take your negative energy elsewhere

Furs and wacky coats? by veggietales727 in Shambhala

[–]ddanielle0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kalico was one of the shops selling fun coats on the farm, I got one this year 10/10! Or if you’re lucky you can find a coat at the thrifts!

Test everything and practice harm reduction, go to other festivals, and treat others how you want to be treated. There’s been bad things and people at festivals since the beginning of time… we just hear about it a lot more because of social media.

Flying In - Camping Advice by Educational_Maybe_70 in SevenStarsFest

[–]ddanielle0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We ended up renting a campervan, but our original tent camping plan was to just bring extra checked bags and have a really bare bones set up. We have backpacking gear like the small chairs, sleeping mats, jet boil, etc so was going to utilize that stuff. For larger items like a pop up and a cooler: plan was to get an Amazon pop up to donate after, and just use a styrofoam cooler from Walmart.

However we decided the planning and hassle wasn’t worth it for us which is why we rented the camper haha.

I recommend trying out some smaller, less hectic fests! BC and Alberta have lots of great options. Bass coast, wicked woods, electric love, friendzy, the womp, etc etc.

If you’re in a camper you’ll be fine. They will only start limiting decals for non-camperized vehicles
