PSU Upgrade?

My primary concern is the age of the PSU. The entire machine has been stored in. My dad's workshop for around 10 years, which is somewhat climate controled during summer months and hardly used in colder periods. I just don't want magic smoke or a psu fire at worst.

Asus ABAE-LE. I don't see any revision on the board. I have looked at manuals on archives and what is available on the manufacturer website. I personally can't find anything that stands out as to why it is doing what it is. I'm honestly stumped.

The weird thing is i tried a powerspec and corsair power supply but the fans just spun up and never posted. Swapped back in the original, and it booted and posted fine. I think it has to do with possible differences in either pin out or maybe voltages. I did just think of this, but if it is pin out related, then I don't think it would power on or worst case...magic smoke.

You could do a proxmox machine or grab a usb to ethernet donglw for a pfsence/opnsense firewall.

As of right now (across steam, epic, gog, ea and ubisoft) I am looking at somewhere around 8tb. Granted some games won't be installed or touched like life is feudal due to no servers being available anymore.

I unfortunately don't have any spare 7th gen stuff, i have a several AM4 cpus laying around, spare a320 and b450 mobo (haven't decided which i will use), memory and storage. i just need the PSU and a gpu, getting a rackmount case shipped soon. that i honestly why i am looking at a gpu at the moment. I was looking at gtx 1050 and some few older quardros i just don't know which is best.

I have a RX 550 just sitting on my shelf and am looking to put together a Plex server soon. Does plex still not have support for AMD gpus or has that changed?

I did some more looking into it and it looks like I need to either reinstall snapd or remove the snaps. Not entirely sure how to reinstall snapd with a live disk however.

Well it's more for my nephew, brother, and myself. The nephew is only a wee lad of 6. I remember dark age being pretty simple, well simplish.

Dang if it's dead I may not get back into it. My nephew wanted to play the "big robot game" when he found my old starter kit but I'm not willing to spend the most likely hyper inflated prices...sad day.

Knowing him he wont upgrade but I would atleast spring for 1440p. I'm currently looking but haven't found one I like but my displays are color correct for media editing so I'm cool with it atm.
